To be fair, I was in Hagerstown over the weekend and watched their local news. The snow was predicted to be over northern Delmarva and western Maryland. Whag was showing mainly just rain for this area. Wjla in Washington as well. According to the Hagerstown station, they did say we could have a major accumulation if temperatures don't rise below freezing. Glad I came home instead of staying an extra day there. They are used to snow and have the equipment to take care of it.
It's bad for business and tourism to say its going to be worse. Remember WBOC has to look out for their advertisers. The hell with the viewers! A bad forecast is bad for business!
The U.S. Satellites are now inferior because of the stellar leadership we have had under Obama. Don't blame the weathermen they are using 1950s technology. All the good stuff is floating up there broken. FACT!
Where do they get their forecast? This was from last night and it calls for a few inches of snow where I live west of DC. Our forecast said 6 plus inches. The picture of the weatherman clearly shows only a few inches. I agree wboc is clueless.,
Only Salisbury weather people are allowed to be wrong 100% of the time yet continue to keep their jobs. If anyone did this in any other job they would've been fired by now. Imagine if he was an air traffic controller or your heart Doctor. You'd be pretty ripped by this point no less.
Problem with this is many elderly depend on weather reports being accurate so they can plan accordingly. Something that Dan and his merry men don't take seriously.
Hmphhh!! Five inches in Snow Hill at 9:45 and still coming down about 1/2" an hour.
ReplyDeleteThe weather guys down here and in Maryland are pathetic..

ReplyDeleteYou really have to worry when they say "expect a dusting or less". That's when you know it's going to be bad.
