UPS Increasing Fees, Fuel Surcharges For Larger, Oversized Packages — Just In Time For The Holidays

Shipping that new bike to your niece this holiday season will cost more than it did last year if you’re using UPS: the company announced that it’s upping the fees it charges customers to ship large, oversized packages as well as raising fuel surcharges on those items.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but gas prices are falling. UPS and others have not reduced their fuel surcharges from the last increase.

    There's a simple alternative. Order from Walmart and ship to store near the person receiving the gift. NO shipping charge.

    What is so precious that involves shipping anyway? I rarely need anything that I can't find in a local retailer.

    don't ship the item. ship/mail the cost to the receiver.
