Annapolis, Md. (April 29, 2014) -- Governor Martin O’Malley released the following statement on today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Cross-State Air Pollution Rule, which addresses air pollution from power plants that contributes to unhealthy air in Maryland and other downwind states:
“By making better choices, we have significantly reduced air pollution generated within Maryland’s borders. Now, the air pollution that blows into Maryland from states upwind of us must be cut to protect the health of our citizens. Today’s Supreme Court ruling upholding EPA’s Cross-State Air Pollution Rule is a critical step forward in achieving this important goal.
In Maryland, we have implemented strong programs such as the Healthy Air Act and the Clean Cars Program. Our efforts to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to Climate Change will also help improve our air quality. However, as much as 70 percent of the ozone air pollution in Maryland comes from upwind states – and ozone transported into the State has been measured at levels that already violate health-based standards. The science clearly demonstrates that Maryland cannot fully meet the air quality standards that protect public health unless air pollution generated outside of our State’s borders is controlled.
The 2012 ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia vacating the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule was disappointing, as it dealt a significant blow to our ongoing efforts to improve the quality of our air in Maryland. Maryland and other downwind states were parties in support of EPA in the case in both the lower court and in the Supreme Court. Maryland is also among a group of Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states that petitioned EPA to require upwind states to reduce emissions that contribute to the formation of ozone in Maryland and other downwind states.
It is time for the upwind states to do the right thing. We look forward to working with them – and to a future with cleaner, healthier air.”

A Treasure Trove of Blackmail
"They basically have turned themselves in my opinion in to a rogue agency...on a monstrous scale on steroids."
With the astonishing number of ways the NSA can spy on Americans, one must consider the ways this trove of information could be used in the wrong hands (as if there are “right” hands). A former intelligence officer for the National Security Agency has gone on record saying that the NSA spies on persons of interest specifically for political reasons — seemingly nothing to do with national security. These persons include congressmen, senators, important committeemen, judges, and even the man who was four years from becoming President of the United States.
“Its incredible what NSA has done,” said Russell Tice, who spent 20 years as an analyst in U.S. government intelligence agencies. “They basically have turned themselves in my opinion in to a rogue agency that has J. Edgar Hoover capabilities on a monstrous scale on steroids.”
Former FBI head J. Edgar Hoover was known for spying on politicians in order to obtain dirt on them that could be later used to leverage them politically. When Tice was asked about the potential for massive blackmail, he responded that it “absolutely” exists.

Lowest Approval Ever
The latest Washington Post-ABC News poll reveals that Barack Obama's approval rating is at its lowest in his presidency. Just 41% of Americans approve of the job he's doing as president, compared to 52% who disapprove.
From Ukraine to the economy to healthcare, it's clear that the American people aren't all that pleased with Obama's performance as president. On Ukraine, only 34% approve of Obama's handling of the situation with 46% disapproving. On the economy, 54% of Americans disapprove of how he's handling it compared to 42% who approve.
The ObamaCare numbers should be troubling to all Democrats because more Americans still oppose the law, including a majority of independent voters. Remember that a recent Fox New poll found that by a 54-29 percent margin, independent voters say they would back the anti-ObamaCare candidate.” A clear majority, 57%, disapprove of the way Obama has handled the implementation of ObamaCare. It wasn't all that long ago when Obama bragged about the 8 million ObamaCare signups, stating “this thing is working.” Looks like the American people disagree. In fact, another poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associatesfound that ObamaCare would be the one thing the American people would choose to undo, if given the choice. By a wide margin, too

Farting Cat Finds New Home
After raising quite a stink – literally, it’s been said – the saga of Lenny the farting cat has a happy ending. Whew!
From a Rochester, N.Y., shelter he’s been adopted anew after his previous “forever” home lasted just two days, reportedly because of too much “eeew.”
Bad rhyming aside, the story goes like this:
Lenny, a gorgeous Tuxedo cat was brought to Scottsville Veterinary Hospital and Pet Adoptions in February after living in a park for about a year. Nursed back to health, he was adopted out in March – only to be returned within 48 hours.

The Biggest Secret About Banking Has Just Gone Mainstream
We’ve pointed out for 4 1/2 years that banks create money out of thin air.
Specifically, it has now been conclusively proven that loans come first … and then deposits FOLLOW.
This is the most important secret about modern banking … because it debunks one of the biggest myths preventing a strong economy, challenges one of the main pork barrel profit centers for big banks … andopens up incredible opportunities for a prosperous economy.
This odd and counter-intuitive – but crucially important – truth has now gone mainstream …
Specifically, the Financial Times’ Martin Wolf – one of the world’s most influential mainstream financial writers - says that, since banks create money out of thin air, they should be stripped of this power, and limited to normal depository functions. Wolf indicates the centrality and importance of the issue with his subtitle:
The giant hole at the heart of our market economies needs to be plugged.

Are Police One Of The Mental Casualties Of the New World Order?
Are too many police officers currently suffering from engineered mental instability? The wave of police brutality in America and the world suggests this may be true, but just how big is this problem and is all of this engineered?
First, without question there are still excellent police officers throughout America that go to work every day and carry themselves in a professional manner. Unfortunately these good and well-meaning police officers are having to bear the weight and the burden placed on them by other so-called “bad” police.
But what exactly is underneath all of this? Even police that act violently often mean well but have rationalized their own behavior to justify what they do. Let’s examine this closer.
Police, like our military men and women who are forced into situations they would rather not be in, are now being counted on to carry out over-reactive injustices on American citizens. Every day we are hearing about police shooting, killing, tasering and beating to death Americans (and even their dogs) who had no charges against them, were not even read their Miranda rights and didn’t get a chance to be heard in front of a jury of their peers. The stories of police executions nationwide are almost daily. So what can be said about this phenomenon?

Gun Buybacks Not Effective For Curbing Violence
Gun buyback programs are often advertised as a way to get dangerous guns off the street. But we went through hundreds of weapons turned in as part of local buybacks to see if those events truly have an impact on violent crime.
Staring down the barrel of a gun is the last thing 31,000 Americans see each year before they take their last breath. It is their last image as the power of a gun is harnessed to take a life.
But those lives don’t have to be lost. Experts say many gun deaths can be prevented if we pull those weapons out of homes where they could be used by accident or out of hands that plan to use them for harm on purpose.

Cops Draw Weapons on Driver After License Plate Reader Misreads His Plate
Automatic license plate readers can scan plates at a rate of one per second. Nationwide, several hundred million plate/location records have been captured and stored by a variety of contractors. Mathematics alone says mistakes will be made. Except when mistakes are made with ALPRs, they tend to put citizens on the bad side of men with guns.
According to the Prairie Village Post, earlier this month lawyer Mark Molner was driving through a Kansas City suburb on his way home from his wife’s sonogram. All of a sudden, his BMW was blocked in front by a police car as another officer on a motorcycle pulled up behind him. (His pregnant wife witnessed the incident from a nearby parked car.)
According to what Molner told the Post, one of the officers then approached his car with his gun out.
“He did not point it at me, but it was definitely out of the holster,” Molner told the Post. “I am guessing that he saw the shock and horror on my face, and realized that I was unlikely to make (more of) a scene.”
The mistake prompting this guns-drawn approach of Molner’s video could have been made by anybody. The ALPR read a “7″ as a “2″ and returned a hit for a stolen vehicle. The hit also returned info for a stolen Oldsmobile, which clearly wasn’t what Molner was driving. But that could mean the plates were on the wrong vehicle, which is also an indication of Something Not Quite Right.

Maryland: Thank Your Lawmakers for a Great Year for Animals!
Five great bills passed in 2014!
Maryland End of Session
Action Needed: Contact Governor O’Malley and your state legislators to thank them for an outstanding year for animal protection in Maryland.
Maryland’s legislative session recently came to a close, but not before the General Assembly passed—and Governor O’Malley signed—five critical animal-protection bills into law!
Dog Bite Liability Compromise to Reverse Solesky Decision (S.B. 247/H.B. 73)
Sponsored by Senator Frosh and Delegate Simmons; establishes a breed-neutral law that is fair to dog owners, victims of dog bites and landlords.
Restrictions on Roadside Zoos (S.B. 827/H.B. 1124)
Sponsored by Senator Pugh and Delegate Luedtke; improves public safety and animal welfare at Maryland’s roadside zoos.
Devocalization Ban (S.B. 660/H.B. 667)
Sponsored by Senator Gladden and Delegate Kramer; prohibits “devocalization,” a painful surgery to remove dogs’ vocal cords, unless it is medically necessary.
Surgical Procedures Performed by Veterinarians Only (S.B. 659/H.B. 665)
Sponsored by Senator Gladden and Delegate Kramer; ensures that only licensed veterinarians can perform certain surgeries on dogs.
Reporting of Animal Cruelty to School Officials (H.B. 222)
Sponsored by Delegate Dumais; requires certain animal cruelty crimes committed by juveniles to be reported to school officials.Maryland is making great progress for animals, but there is still much work to be done. These bills didn’t quite make it over the finish line this year:
Costs of Care (H.B. 93)
Sponsored by Delegates Murphy and Waldstreicher; would have clarified that judges are allowed to order convicted animal abusers to reimburse animal control agencies for the costs of caring for seized animals.
The House and Senate passed different versions of this bill and couldn’t work out the differences. Thank your legislators for supporting this bill and urge them to return to this issue in 2015!
Prohibiting Local Breed-Specific Legislation (H.B. 422)
Sponsored by Delegate Hixson; would have prohibited a dog from being deemed dangerous based solely on breed and prohibit counties and municipalities from adopting breed bans in the future.
This bill did not receive a vote on the Senate floor and died when the Legislature adjourned.
What You Can Do
It is important for your elected leaders to be made aware of which issues are important to you and to let them know you’re watching how they vote on animal welfare bills. You can look up how your state legislators voted on the bills listed above by visiting the Maryland legislature’s website. (You can also email chloe.waterman@aspca.org for help finding this information.) If any of your legislators voted against any of the bills, please call them to politely express your disappointment. If any of yours legislator are listed as a supporter or a sponsor to any of these bills, it is critical that you call to thank them for their leadership! Find your legislators’ names and phone numbers here.
In addition, please use the form below to quickly email your state legislators thanking them for taking steps to protect Maryland’s animals by passing the five bills listed above. Our letter also urges them to address the costs of caring for seized animals issue when they return to Annapolis in 2015.
If you can, please also take a minute to contact Governor O’Malley’s office at (410) 974-3901 to thank him for signing these bills into law!
Thank you, Maryland!

Is A Crash Inevitable? The Spiral Vortex Of Debt And Corruption
The economy will decline in the USA following 2015.75 and will have several important impacts that will shape our future. The Big Bang is inevitable – YES! The outcome is to be determined. This is why I do what I do. I too have a family and fear for their future. I am not 23, so my shelf time is expiring thank God so I do not have to live in this age of tyranny too long. Nevertheless, all I can do is try to educate as many people for if they understand how things work, then when it comes time for the rebuilding, perhaps we can choose freedom over more authoritarian-tyranny...
So my concerns are for our future – not to sell bullshit. This is far more important. Unfortunately, the primary impact will be:
The USA is the only economy holding up the entire world right now. GDP Growth is collapsing everywhere from Europe, Russia, and into China. Once the USA turns down, the civil unrest will rise in the USA as well. The Occupy Wall Street was a dress rehearsal.
Governments will find it increasingly harder to sell their debt. This trend has already hit both China and Russia. We will see it hit Europe, Japan and then the USA. This will drive the trend to raise taxes further as governments will assume that they need to restore confidence within their debt structures. As they do this, the global economy will turn downward into a spiral vortex.
While governments claim to be mad at the NSA, behind the curtain there is legal swapping going on. Foreign nations are using the NSA to gather data for taxes on their own citizens while denying they spy on their own people yet get that info from the NSA. In return, the NSA allows the British to spy on Americans so the NSA can deny it is doing so domestically and then swaps the info. Germany and Switzerland also participate in this domestic spying for taxes.
The G20 agreement to swap all financial info to hunt down international capital is all about getting tax revenue to sustain the debt structure. There is no long-term planning here and they cannot see that they are creating the next MAJOR GREAT DEPRESSION to make all previous downturns loop like speed-bumps. I reported that even I could not wire $15,000 for expenses to Asia in advance. HSBC refused to accept the wire for they could not guarantee I had no ownership in the account the wire was directed. I had to write a check. You cannot even do business because these people are hunting all capital and PRESUME any transaction over $3,000 is to hide money – not for commerce.
Government will not collapse. This early stage will be about fighting hard to sustain their power. War is part of that. International War takes place either to fill the treasury with the spoils of war and or power as was in the good old days (Putin’s ideas), or the more modern version to act as a distraction to deflect civil unrest (USA to come) and to unleash the dogs of war to settle old scores (China v Japan, North v South Korea, Russia v West).

MSNBC's Melber Seems Unaware of Infamous Clinton Cattle Future Scandal
MSNBC's Ari Melber may want to brush up on his Clinton scandal history in preparation for a Hillary Clinton White House run. As he substitute hosted Tuesday's The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell, Melber mistook a reference to the infamous cattle futures deal for a criticism of the former First Family making money since leaving office.
In fact, the deal refers to the former First Lady suspiciously making $100,000 in the cattle futures market with only a $1,000 investment while her husband Bill Clinton was holding office as Arkansas attorney general in 1978, raising the possibility of a secret payoff.
After reading a satirical letter about Hillary Clinton and her future grandchild published by the New York Post, a confused Melber wondered:
I mean, what is up with all of this "mommy," "grandma," phraseology to deal with, I guess, a criticism about the money they've made out of office, which, by the way, could be a substantive critique if you just dealt with it directly?

28 Things Everyone Should Experience In Maryland At Least Once
Maryland became the seventh state to ratify the U.S. Constitution of the United States 226 years ago today, on April 28, 1788. Small though it is, the Free State is densely packed with history, culture and spectacle. To celebrate the anniversary of statehood, we have compiled a Maryland "bucket list" full of things you should experience in Maryland at least once.

- Watch a live fire demonstration at the Antietam National Battlefield, the site of the bloodiest single-day battle in the Civil War. Any time of year is good to visit the scenic national park, but the excitement is taken to a new level during the anniversary weekend in the middle of September.
- Indulge with a Berger Cookie, the fudge-covered shortbread delights that have been named “best cookie” by the Baltimore City Paper. It's an uncomplicated experience, as far as food goes, but chocolate lovers need to check them out.

Zohydro: Why this new painkiller could spark another addiction epidemic
A new, highly potent painkiller is out on the market – and many health experts want it gone.
The controversial drug is Zohydro, an extended-release painkiller containing the already widely used opioid, hydrocodone. Designed to release painkilling medication into the body slowly over a 12-hour period, Zohydro is available in doses as high as 50 milligrams – five times the amount found in similar immediate-release hydrocodone pills.
According to Zohydro’s manufacturer Zogenix Inc., the drug’s hallmark is its simplicity. Zohydro is the first painkiller to contain only hydrocodone, while other comparable drugs, such as Vicodin and Lortab, contain hydrocodone plus acetaminophen. The company claims that acetaminophen overdose is the leading cause of acute liver failure in the United States, and 63 percent of these cases are caused by hydrocodone-acetaminophen combination drugs. Zohydro is meant to provide pain relief without this threat of liver toxicity.

Economy concerns may doom Democrats
Much of the discussion around ObamaCare and midterms has centered around the question of whether ObamaCare is working or not. How good or how bad the controversial law is will take years to reveal. A new poll out from National Journal, however, reminds us what the problem for Democrats this year is. It’s not the policy per se, but the belief among voters that President Obama’s policies are hurting their chances for prosperity. The poll, which doesn’t even limit itself to registered voters, still finds the president stuck with low job approval (41 percent). There’s also the intensity question: “The share of adults who strongly disapprove of his performance (39 percent) is nearly double that of those who strongly approve (21 percent)…”
Demographic disaster - White voters will be the key in the states crucial to Democrats’ remaining hopes to hold on to the Senate – particularly in states with substantially whiter populations than the nation as a whole, like Iowa (92 percent white), Colorado (88 percent white) and Minnesota (87 percent white) “Among whites overall, just 35 percent said they approve of his performance, while 59 percent disapprove,” wrote Ron Brownstein.
Why so low? - “Just 25 percent of all respondents said they believed his agenda would increase opportunities for people like them. That's the smallest positive response the poll has recorded except for the two surveys last fall. In the new poll, a full 46 percent said they believed his actions would diminish their opportunities-essentially tying the 47 percent in each of last fall’s polls as his worst showing on that measure. The remaining 23 percent said they did not think his actions would affect their opportunities.”

A Letter To The Editor
On Campground Rd...just up from the Ferry at the end of Riverside Drive Ext. There was a full County road crew doing work at the stop sign of Siloam Rd and Campground Rd. The owner of the house where the work is being done is the son of a man that just recently retired from the same County department.
They've got the road tore up and it appears they are addressing an "sitting water issue" when it rains very hard. I can't think of any other reason to be digging up the road way. My point being....if you take a ride out there....maybe you could show our tax payers that their money gets spent of BS...especially if you're connected. Way bigger fish to fry when it comes to our county roads for sure.
I'm so sick of this crap I could scream.

75M Americans Under Threat of Severe Weather
Tupelo, Mississippi (CNN) -- The scope is staggering. Some 75 million Americans are under threat of severe weather on Tuesday.
People from the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast, and from the Midwest to the East Coast, are advised to keep their eyes to the sky and their ears to the radio. That's a third of the country.
The greatest risk will again be in the Deep South, with Mississippi and Alabama in the bull's-eye for the worst of the storms.
The first two days of this powerful spring storm system, which is expected to rage into Wednesday, claimed 29 lives in six states.

Virginia-launched Spacecraft Meets Its End On The Moon
Shortly after midnight one morning this month, the spacecraft launched last year from Virginia ended its mission to the moon by crashing into the lunar surface, authorities said.
The unmanned craft, which launched Sept. 6 from Wallops Island on the Atlantic coast, struck the far side of the moon at about 3,000 mph, said Rick Elphic, a NASA scientist working on the project.
NASA said it has confirmed that the crash, which had been planned, occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 1:22 a.m. Eastern time on April 18. On Earth, such an impact could be expected to make enough of a bang to rouse many of those asleep at the time.

IRS NUMBERS SHOW INCOME TAX WINNERS AND LOSERS BY STATE
"In Maryland, media attention prompted policymakers in both parties to realize that a mass exodus of taxpayers harms the state and especially Baltimore, a case study in tax flight among major cities in the mid-Atlantic. While the most recent decline is less pronounced, the damage has already been done in high-taxed Maryland. From 2000 to 2010, the state lost $5.5 billion in taxable revenues. Gubernatorial candidate David Craig has announced a plan to reduce and eventually eliminate Maryland’s income tax “to keep families together.” A tenth-generation Marylander, he would prefer to keep his children and grandchildren in the state."

UPDATE: Green Bay Police react to planned open carry demonstration
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - An open carry advocate is planning to bring some gun-toting friends to downtown Green Bay this weekend in response to a police incident last weekend.
Charles Branstrom says he'll be with a small group at bar close early Sunday morning on Washington Street openly carrying firearms.
“Everybody I know has a cool head, I don’t see a problem with it,” Branstrom told FOX 11. “I guess it’s up to Green Bay police if it’s going to turn bad or not.”
Branstrom says it's designed to show opposition to how Green Bay Police Officer Derek Wicklund acted in a now viral cell phone video.
FOX 11 asked Branstrom why he is holding the event, and what his gun-rights message has to do with the video.
“We’re doing this just to show that we’re not going to stand by and let police brutality happen,” said Branstrom. “It seems to be a growing trend.”

If You Won’t Fight, You’d Better Start Running!
Are you tired of living under relative tyranny where every email is read, every phone call is listened to and your every movement is tracked and dissident journalists are harassed and even murdered by federal agencies such as the rogue NSA, CIA and IRS? Are you thinking about escaping our corrupt and criminal government? The level of growing tyranny and brutal martial law enforcement is off the charts. Many are too old to fight and too fat to run. However, if you want you and your family to have chance to grow old in relative peace, my advice to all Americans is simple. If you are not going to fight, then you better get out of the country while you still can.
Record Expatriation of US Citizens
Americans are leaving the country at record speed and the annual rate of expatriation is growing as over 150,000 Americans departed the former land of liberty for greener pastures overseas in the past year. In fact, there are now over five million Americans who are choosing to live outside the United States. Just why are Americans leaving this land of “freedom” and opportunity in record numbers, with no end in sight?
Would you renounce your U.S. citizenship if it meant you’d be sending less of your hard-earned dollars to Uncle Sam? Do you want affordable health care? Do you desire to live a long and healthy life? Do you want your children to have an affordable college education? Do you want to retire in relative comfort? Do you desire to live your life with more freedoms than you presently enjoy and not have to worry about government harassment? On balance, should most Americans stay or go?
There are reasons and myths which both favor and discourage expatriation. Below, I have listed a set of generalized statements about the viability of leaving America and these notions are examined.

Tennessee police photographed choking unresisting college student until he passes out
A sheriff's deputy in Knox County, Tennessee has been fired after he was caught on camera allegedly choking a university student Saturday night.
Frank Phillips, 47, was been found 'unsuitable for continued employment,' according to a termination notice posted Sunday night on the Knox County Sheriff's Office's website.
'In my 34 years of law enforcement experience, excessive force has never been tolerated. After an investigation by the Office of Professional Standards, I believe excessive force was used in this incident,' Sheriff Jimmy 'J.J.' Jones said.
'Therefore, Officer Phillips' employment with the Knox County Sheriff's Office is terminated immediately.'
Jones added that the investigation will now be turned over to the Knox County Attorney General's Office to determine any further action.
John Messner, a freelance photographer in Knoxville, captured Phillips with both hands around the neck of University of Tennessee student Jarod Dotson in Fort Sanders after a party. The 21-year-old can be seen falling to his knees after the man's grip apparently renders him unconscious.
Phillips has been with the Sheriff's Office since 1992. Dotson, of Powell, is an architecture major at the college.

Bringing Back Maryland's Oysters
Our native oyster is critical to the Bay’s ecology and the State’s economy. Sadly, this essential filter feeder and seafood industry superstar has languished at 1 percent of its historic population for decades, decimated by overfishing, habitat degradation and disease.
But today there is new hope for the beleaguered mollusk. In 2010 under Governor Martin O’Malley’s leadership, the State of Maryland adopted a 10-Point Oyster Restoration and Aquaculture Development Plan to rebuild our native oyster population and the industry it supports. Just four years later, we are seeing progress in every area of the plan.
In a critical early step, a team of federal, state and private experts worked together to assess existing oyster habitat, define recovery areas and prioritize tributaries with the greatest potential for oyster growth. With this information in hand, the State expanded its sanctuary program, increasing areas closed to harvest from 5% to 24% of the best remaining oyster bars.
This work not only set the stage for restoring 377 acres in Harris Creek– the largest undertaking of its kind; Harris Creek and other newly created sanctuaries are also providing an arena for developing natural disease resistance.

The Ocean City Beach Patrol (OCBP) has been asked to do a presentation and demonstration at the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems’ (MIEMSS) annual EMS conference. The conference, which is being held at the Clarion Hotel, will take place April 30-May 4.
MIEMSS is the agency responsible for overseeing commercial ambulance licenses, establishing medical protocols for the state’s EMTs, Paramedics and First Responders, dispatching medevac helicopters and monitoring hospital statuses around the state. At their 2013 conference, the OCBP conducted a live rescue demonstration in front of the Clarion.

NAACP-LA Names Clippers' Owner Donald Sterling 2014 Lifetime Achievement Honoree, Despite His Housing Discrimination History
Last night (at NewsBusters; at BizzyBlog), I noted that Donald Sterling, owner of the National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Clippers, was allegedly caught on tape chiding a person who is apparently his girlfriend for "taking pictures with minorities" and "associating with black people." He also tells her that she is a "delicate" "Latina or white girl," and because of that doesn't understand why she would "associate with black people." He doesn't want her bringing black people, including NBA legend Magic Johnson, to games.
It turns out that Sterling must be known in liberal and politically correct circles for far more than the few small political donations from two decades ago identified in last night's post. The Clippers owner is scheduled in less than three weeks to receive a lifetime achievement award from the Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP at its 100th anniversary event, where Al Sharpton and LA Mayor Eric Garcetti will also be honored as persons of the year (HT to a NewsBusters commenter):

How to overthrow the (union) government
Last week, a group of teacher union members seized control of the Wicomico County Education Association (WCEA) in Maryland without a vote or any authority except the signatures on a petition they created. It was a bizarre event, unique in the annals of National Education Association history, as far as I know. There are many instances of national or state unions establishing trusteeships over rogue locals, and employing tactics similar to those used in Wicomico to gain control. But in those cases, the parent unions had the cloak of union by-laws and affiliate agreements to justify their actions. In Wicomico, the actions of the “interim managers” are entirely extra-constitutional.
While the question of who engineered the overthrow of the union’s entire elected leadership is still a mystery for the time being, we can ascertain the timeline and key ingredients.
Citing the costs of maintaining affiliation with the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) and NEA, WCEA’s officers planned to put the question of continuing the relationship to the local union’s representative assembly, which consists of the building representatives of each school site. This action was controversial, and one of the major concerns of the opposition was that the question would not be presented to the entire rank-and-file.

18-Year-Old High School Senior Left Her Baby Boy on the Side of the Road in a Plastic Bag Because He Looked Like Her Ex-Boyfriend
All of the sex education that’s being pushed on our students is being credited for lower rates of teen pregnancy. But does it not also encourage actions that lead to situations like this — a teenage girl who slept with two men and didn’t want to deal with the consequences?
An 18-year-old Chicago high school student gave birth to a baby boy last Saturday then allegedly put him outside in a Walmart plastic bag to kill him ‘because he looked like her ex-boyfriend and she was afraid her current boyfriend would leave her.’
Ana Rosa Mora faces a first degree murder charge for allegedly killing her baby and later admitted to her actions after school employees and police became suspicious.
The child was discovered along a gangway in North Hamlin last weekend in a plastic bag with its umbilical cord and placenta.

The Obamacare Question That Has Democrats Terrified
With just 191 days until the Nov. 4 midterm elections, nervous Democrats are scrambling to find an effective answer to the Obamacare question they may fear the most: "Where is the $2,500 in health insurance savings President Obama and Democrats promised me?"
As the video below demonstrates, President Barack Obama promised numerous times that Obamacare would cut the typical American family's health insurance premiums by $2,500 per year.

Confirmed: U.S. Armed Al Qaeda to Topple Libya’s Gaddaffi
We reported in 2012 that the U.S. supported Al Qaeda in Libya in its effort to topple Gadaffi:
The U.S. supported opposition which overthrew Libya’s Gadaffi was largely comprised of Al Qaeda terrorists.
According to a 2007 report by West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center’s center, the Libyan city of Benghazi was one of Al Qaeda’s main headquarters – and bases for sending Al Qaeda fighters into Iraq – prior to the overthrow of Gaddafi:

Anti-Common Core Group Awards Bradlee Dean for Defending Timeless Values
Freedom Outpost has been a source of exposing who is behind Common Core and what it is for a while now. Several of our contributors, including Kelleigh Nelson, Charlotte Iserbyt, Anita B. Hoge and Karen Schroeder, have been at the tip of the spear in exposing what Common Core is all about and who is behind it. We have also promoted parents taking the responsibility of their children's education into their own hands, rather than turning them over to government run indoctrination centers, also known as public schools. In that spirit, Freedom Outpost contributor and a Son of Liberty, Bradlee Dean, has earned the Education Liberty Award by the group AboutCommonCore.com.
Not everyone that speaks out against Common Core gets this award. However, special recognition was given to Bradlee Dean based on his willingness to confront the doctrines of Common Core via his radio show, speaking engagements and public school talks.

This black does not think Bundy is racist
Pick a card, any card. Racist. Sexist. Homophobic. We all knew it was only a matter of time before Democrats/Liberals played one or more of their Big Three Cards to silence, intimidate and crush opposition to their latest power grab/tyrannical attack on our freedom.
With a majority of Americans taking rancher Cliven Bundy's side against Obama's BLM thugs, Democrat Harry Reid concluded that it was time to play their old faithful, tried and true race card. As Gomer Pyle use to say, "Surprise. Surprise." We knew it was coming.
This is how the Left rolls. When America rallied around Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson after being targeted for destruction by the Left, the Left played a twofer on Robertson; accusing him of being homophobic and a racist.

13 Worst Predictions Made on Earth Day, 1970
The 1970s were a lousy decade. Embarrassing movies, dreadful music and downright terrifying clothes reflected the national mood following an unpopular war, endless political scandals and a faltering economy.
Popular culture was consumed with decline, especially Hollywood. The Omega Man, Soylent Green, Damnation Alley and countless other dystopian films showed a planet wrecked by war, pollution and neglect. In large part, the entertainment industry was reflecting the culture at large.
In 1970, the first Earth Day was celebrated - okay, "celebrated" doesn't capture the funereal tone of the event. The events (organized in part by then hippie and now convicted murderer Ira Einhorn) predicted death, destruction and disease unless we did exactly as progressives commanded.
Behold the coming apocalypse as predicted on and around Earth Day, 1970:
1. "Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind." - Harvard biologist George Wald

Jim Perdue, good arsenic, and bad arsenic: By Ray Wallace
“Four out of 10 consumers have lost trust in food. Forty percent of consumers don’t trust the food supply that feeds them,” Jim Perdue said....
Perdue Farms originally used a chemical compound to treat a parasite in the chickens’ gut. The compound contains arsenic, and even though the company spent two years explaining to consumers that there was “good arsenic and bad arsenic,” the perception was too strong.

Arsenic may be "natural," but that doesn't mean it's good for you. A study in the scientific journal Environmental Health Perspectives:
revealed that chickens likely raised with arsenic-based drugs yield meat that has higher levels of inorganic arsenic, a known carcinogen that has also been associated with cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, cognitive deficits and adverse pregnancy outcomes....
By 2010, 88 percent of all chickens raised for human consumption in the US were given the arsenic-based drug roxarsone....
When you feed arsenical drugs to livestock, the arsenic doesn't just magically disappear. Instead, trace amounts of arsenic fed to chicken are excreted in their manure -- and when hundreds of thousands of chickens are raised on a factory farm year after year, the arsenic can accumulate pretty quickly, eventually contaminating soil, groundwater and surface waters.
But not all the arsenic is excreted in manure; some portion also ends up in the poultry meat that U.S. consumers eat every day....
In meat samples containing roxarsone, levels of inorganic arsenic were four times higher than levels in organic chicken....
70 percent of samples from conventional producers without policies prohibiting arsenical use had inorganic arsenic levels that exceeded the ... FDA safety standard....
Cooked chicken samples had higher levels of inorganic arsenic than their uncooked counterparts.

Intelligence Head Who Lied To Congress Bans Employees From Talking To Media
“Henceforward, the only news about intelligence is to be authorized news.”
The Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, who notoriously lied to Congress over the scope of the NSA’s mass surveillance program, has issued a directive that effectively bans anyone working for any US intelligence agency from talking to the media or journalists.
The directive, which will be seen as many as an all out assault on the First Amendment rights of intelligence employees, says that personnel “must obtain authorization for contacts with the media” on any “intelligence-related information”.
