OBAMA'S $5 TRILLION DOLLAR LIE

TREASON (noun)

1. the offense of acting to overthrow one’s government or to harm or kill its sovereign.

2. a violation of allegiance to one’s sovereign or to one’s state.

3. the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

If Obama gets re-elected, we’ll be reading an article about Obama’s TEN trillion dollar lie. Obama and the criminals in Washington have pissed away the treasure, wealth and future of our country. Their actions are treasonous. With the amount of money owed by our government rapidly approaching $16 trillion, the very stability and sovereignty of our nation will soon be called into question. This doesn’t even include the more than $6 trillion the Federal Reserved and loaned and/or created out of thin air. When the criminals in Washington can’t keep the plates spinning any longer by their profligate spending, it is all going to come crashing down. The more than 45% of our population getting government transfer payments/cash aren’t going to be happy. Too many people are getting too much free crap to complain.

Professor Sues Purdue for Violation of his Free Speech Rights on Islam

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Professor Maurice Eisenstein, an associate professor of political science at Purdue University Calumet. He is suing Purdue after the school’s investigation of his comments about Islam on Facebook. Though the probe cleared him, he says Purdue still violated his free speech rights.

FP: Professor Maurice Eisenstein, welcome to Frontpage Interview.

I would like to talk to you today about your ordeal at Purdue. How did the whole incident start?

Eisenstein: Thanks Jamie.

The entire attack on my free speech began over a post I made to Facebook in November 2011.  I posted a picture with a storyline about an Islamist Muslim group (Boko Haram) killing Christians in Nigeria.  I asked: Where were the moderate Muslims? They must be listening to that idiot Mohammad.

From this, one of my PUC colleagues, a Muslim, told me (on Facebook) that she believed my statement about Mohammad was beyond despicable.  Once she responded to me, then several of her students were able come to my Facebook page to tell me that they also believed that I was out-of-bounds for denigrating Mohammad.  Their essential issue was that I was offending Mohammed and Islam.  In the wake of that incident, the Muslim Student Association became involved and they did a press release saying that no prophet (Jesus, Moses, Mohammad — their argument not mine) should be insulted because offending a religion was not an acceptable use of freedom of speech.

'I Meow for Michelle' and Other Campaign Delights

Some of the stuff the Barack Obama campaign is selling to raise money for the re-election effort is pretty unusual.

They would like you to get your pets involved with the campaign by offering doggie sweaters and “I Meow for Michelle” cat collars.

Even eating and drinking can become campaign events. You can enter raffles to win dinner with Barack. What could increase your desire to drink more than a Joe Biden can cover?

These items may be unique but do they highlight what’s memorable about his past few years in office?

Rational People Fear Big Government, Not Big Business

You cannot understand the left if you do not understand that Leftism is a religion. It is not God-based (some Left-wing Christians’ and Jews’ claims notwithstanding), but otherwise it has every characteristic of a religion. The most blatant of those characteristics is dogma. People who believe in Leftism have as many dogmas as the most fundamentalist Christian.

One of them is material equality as the preeminent moral goal. Another is the villainy of corporations. The bigger the corporation, the greater the villainy. Thus, instead of the devil, the left has Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, Big Oil, the “military-industrial complex,” and the like. Meanwhile, Big Labor, Big Trial Lawyers, and, of course, Big Government are leftwing angels. And why is that? Why, to be specific, does the left fear big corporations but not big government? The answer is dogma — a belief system that transcends reason. No rational person can deny that big governments have caused almost all the great evils of the last century, arguably the bloodiest in history. Who killed the 20-30 million Soviet citizens in the Gulag Archipelago — big government or big business? Hint: There were no private businesses in the Soviet Union. Who deliberately caused 75 million Chinese to starve to death — big government or big business? Hint: See previous hint. Did Coca Cola kill five million Ukrainians? Did Big Oil slaughter a quarter of the Cambodian population? Would there have been a Holocaust without the huge Nazi state?

Senator: Prostitution Scandal Wider Than Believed

Several small groups of Secret Service employees separately visited clubs, bars and brothels in Colombia prior to a visit by President Barack Obama last month and engaged in reckless, "morally repugnant" behavior, Sen. Susan Collins says.

She says the employees' actions during the stunning prostitution scandal could have provided a foreign intelligence service, drug cartels or other criminals with opportunities for blackmail or coercion that could have threatened the president's safety.

In remarks prepared for the first congressional hearing on the matter Wednesday, Collins, R-Maine, also challenged early assurances that the scandal in Colombia appeared to be an isolated incident. She noted that two participants were Secret Service supervisors _ one with 21 years of service and the other with 22 years _ and both were married. Their involvement "surel

Nancy Reagan Fractures Ribs in Fall at Home

Former First Lady Nancy Reagan fractured a number of ribs in a fall at her home several weeks ago and is recovering slowly, a spokesperson said Wednesday.

Reagan, 90, has been "advised by her doctor not to try and attend large events too far from home just yet," said Joanne Drake in a statement released by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation.

She had been expected to attend a speech by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., at the Library Tuesday but was forced to cancel.

Will U.S. Cede Maritime Boundaries to U.N.?

Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., has been on the front lines of the climate debate since his days in the House of Representatives and he has been one of the most prominent opponents of efforts ranging from the Kyoto Protocol to Cap and Trade and now to the Law of the Sea treaty.

Inhofe says the treaty, known by the acronym LOST, is often pitched as an innocuous effort to clarify maritime boundaries and even enhance U.S. access to vital resources. But in reality, he says the treaty is a giveaway to the United Nations, which would then charge the U.S. and American energy companies a fortune to explore for energy underneath our own waters.

“It’s just another way the far-left is trying to stop us from supplying the necessary fossil fuels needed to run this machine called America,” Inhofe told WND.

Exclusive - The Vetting - Barack Obama, the First Tea Partier

In 2009, President Barack Obama reportedly called members of the Tea Party "teabaggers." It turns out that our fourth greatest president, first in so many things, may have been the first "teabagger" himself, as seen in the 1997 photograph above. Yes, that really is Barack Obama wearing a regimental coat and carrying a tricorn hat in his hand. And that flag behind him really is a Gadsden flag, with its serpent and its "Don't Tread On Me" slogan. You may want to let all of this sink in a bit, especially if you're a Tea Party-bashing progressive.

Neither Democrats nor the media have been particularly kind to the Tea Party. There is hardly space to go through all the times the Tea Party has been compared to terrorists (including by the Vice President) or fascists, or the many times it has been accused of racism by progressives in supposedly mainstream news outlets. That's a book-length story of its own.

But given the photo above, it is certainly a good time to think back upon some of the ridicule Tea Party members were forced to endure for evoking the Revolutionary War era by their dress and choice of symbols.

Show Your Support

       Dear Friends,

There are less than seven months until election day when the people will decide who will be the next President of the United States. The person elected will be the President of all Americans, not just the Democrats or the Republicans. It's time that we all need to come together, Democrats and Republicans alike, in a bi-partisan effort for America.

If you will support Mitt Romney, please drive with your headlights ON during the DAY.

If you support Barack Obama, please drive with your headlights OFF at NIGHT.

Together, we can make it happen. Thank you!

Biden: Tea Party Stopped us From Growing Economy

Vice President Joe Biden admitted to a group of supporters in New Hampshire this afternoon that the President would have been able help the economy "much, more" if the Tea Party hadn't taken the House.

Biden showed the audience the Obama campaigns chart of job growth during the President's first term in office and accused the Tea Party for stalling the recovery, because of the debt limit fight.

"Imagine where we'd be if the Tea Party hadn't taken control of the House of Representatives," Biden said adding that they were "a group set on obstructionism."

ICE Official: Mexican Drug Cartels Now ‘Dictating’ Flow of Human Smuggling into U.S.

“Gatekeepers” linked to Mexican drug cartels “are dictating when and where” alien smugglers are allowed to cross the southwest border into the U.S. territory, a federal immigration enforcement agent told House lawmakers at a hearing Monday held in Arizona.

The official, Matthew Allen of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), added that when human smugglers wishing to cross into the U.S. disregard “warnings” from drug cartels, they can be targets of violence including murder.

See MRCTV‘s Hilarious Interaction With NOW Protesters Rallying Against Limbaugh’s ‘Hate Speech’

After learning about an anti-Rush Limbaugh protest being held by the National Organization for Women (NOW), MRCTV’s Dan Joseph set out to see what the hoopla was all about. To his surprise, rather than swaths of angry protesters, he found a dozen women waving signs and attempting to get drivers to “honk” in support of their efforts. Of course, Joseph took the opportunity to quickly engaged them in uncomfortable dialogue.

After he approached the women, who were holding signs reading, “Fight the radical right,” among other related messages, Joseph asked them why they were protesting Limbaugh. Their responses, while unsurprising, spawned what conservatives will surely see as hypocrisy.

MSNBC: Don't Expose Muslim Atrocities

MSNBC’s new golden girl was in a pickle: If someone sees a black person committing rape or domestic violence, should he report it if it makes black people look bad?

Or if Muslims see wife-beating, genital mutilation and childhood sexual abuse, should they just keep it to themselves, because saying something gives ammunition to the “Islamophobes”?

The questions appear to be simple. But they posed a challenge for the host of the new “Melissa Harris-Perry” show when guest Mona Eltahawy talked about her Foreign Policy magazine cover story about abuse of women by men in the Muslim world.

Ahmadinejad, Farrakhan & The Black Panthers: Shocking New Details on Their Meeting & the ‘Beast’ Axis That Was Forged

According to New Black Panther Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz:

Envisions the “glory” of “paroling on the Israeli embassy with a hundred New Black Panthers” fighting for Palestine.

Fighting white people is an “international struggle against a common enemy.”

Whites are trying to “divide the non-white” population against each other
Because “half of Africa” was involved in slavery “we say Africa owes us reparations, too.”

Black radicals should seek “alliances that are possible right now with people who got solid track records of being against this beast [white people].”

Shabazz “stands on solid ideological ground” with “His Excellency, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.”

“Mahmoud Ahmadinejad” understands “the dynamics and the politics of world revolution.”

Shabazz discussed “bringing natural gas and oil and other reparations into the black nation, and other things - unmentionable” with Ahmadinejad.

There were “fifty Imams in the meeting“ and ”Minister Farrakhan is sitting in the first seat in the front.”

There are “just as many Arabs who hate this white man as we do” and the Black Panthers should ally themselves with radical Islam.

‘This is For You, White B–ch’: Woman Allegedly Attacked While Ordering Lunch at Colo. McDonald’s

A Colorado woman was reportedly attacked by three African-Americans while ordering lunch at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Colorado recently, after she asked one of the alleged attackers not to leave her trash in the parking lot.

“I witnessed this young lady throwing trash out of her car and all I said was that it wasn’t cool,” Shannon, the woman who was seemingly assaulted, explained.

Before she knew it, she said, the woman and her female friend lunged at her, punching her face and pulling her hair through the car’s open window.  Then, in the midst of the confusion, a man interjected himself into the fight, throwing a soda at her.

“This is for you, you white b–ch!  This is a grape soda,” he reportedly said before taking off.

Did Obama Have Lower SAT Scores Than George W. Bush?

President Barack Obama is hailed by his supporters and the mainstream media as one of the most brilliant men ever to hold the office. However, his refusal to release his academic records, his admitted deficiencies as a student, and his frequent factual errors--even in his chosen field of constitutional law--have cast doubt upon his supposed genius. Now, Breitbart News has established that Obama's grades and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores may have been even lower than those of his supposedly less capable predecessor, George W. Bush.
Breitbart News has learned that the transfer class that entered Columbia College in the fall of 1981 with Obama was one of the worst in recent memory, according to Columbia officials at the time.

A Nov. 18, 1981 article in the Columbia Spectator, “Tight Housing Discourages Transfer Applications to CC,” written by student Jeremy Feldman and quoting admissions officials, reported: “On paper at least, the quality of the students accepted [as transfers] has declined along with the number of applicants, the officials say.”

HHS Spending $20M on PR Campaign to ‘Encourage’ Use of Sterilization-Contraception-Abortifacient Mandate

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded a $20 million contract for a media public relations campaign to promote awareness and use of the  Obamacare "preventive services" mandate that requires all health-care plans to cover without any fees or co-pay sterilizations and all Food and Drug
Administration-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions.

The taxpayer-funded public relations campaign is itself mandated by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, an HHS official told CNSNews.com.

“Section 4004 of the Affordable Care Act required the department to conduct this effort as one way to encourage utilization of preventive benefits and services,” the official said.

Key Stats On Balanced Revenues

After a productive Special Session, this morning, Governor O’Malley and the Presiding Officers signed a fiscally responsible budget into law that will support job creation and move us forward with a balanced approach. The budget is balanced with spending cuts, position reductions, modern investments and balanced revenues.

In analyzing the balanced revenues, we wanted to share this new report from the Institute on Taxation and Economy Policy.

Here are the key facts:

54 percent of the income tax revenue raised by SB1302 would come from the wealthiest 1 percent of state taxpayers—a group with an average income of nearly $1.6 million per year.

87 percent of the revenue would come from the top 5 percent of taxpayers.

The changes in families’ income tax bills—even at the top of the income distribution—would be very modest. After considering the “federal offset” effect, the tax increase faced by the top 1 percent of taxpayers would equal just 0.16 percent of their total household income, and taxpayers outside of the top 1 percent would face an even smaller increase.

Facebook Stock Could Hurt California Budget

California's budget could take a hit if Facebook's stock price keeps sliding.

Gov. Jerry Brown previously estimated the state would generate between $1.4 billion and $1.9 billion over the next 13 months from taxes related to sales of Facebook stock. The estimate was based on a price of $35 a share.

Facebook went public Friday at $38 a share but closed at $31 on Tuesday.

Last week, the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst's Office warned that a number of uncertainties could cause the state's deficit to be several billion dollars higher or lower than the governor's $15.7 billion estimate.

SCOOTER COLLISION RESULTS IN SERIOUS INJURIES

On Friday, May 18, 2012, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Ocean City Police responded to the area of 45th Street and Coastal Highway for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a scooter. When officers arrived on scene, they observed the operator of the scooter to be unconscious in the roadway.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a Cadillac passenger vehicle was attempting to make a turn from the northbound turn lane through stopped traffic into the 45th Street Village. The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as James T. Carrollton, 23, from Toms River, NJ, made the left turn and failed to yield to the scooter operator, who was traveling south in the bus lane.

The operator of the scooter, whose name is not being released at this time, was flown by Delaware State Police helicopter to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for serious injuries. Carrollton was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way on a left turn.

42 Percent of Ky. Primary Voters Choose ‘Uncommitted’ over Obama

President Barack Obama won the Kentucky Democratic primary Tuesday, but 42 percent of primary voters chose “uncommitted” over Obama.

Over half of Kentucky’s 120 counties went for “uncommitted” — a candidate with a notably bare-bones campaign. Obama led with 119,277 votes, with “uncommitted” receiving 86,857 votes, with 99 percent of precincts reporting.

In Arkansas, the only other candidate appearing on the ballot, John Wolfe, took 41 percent of the vote from the Democratic incumbent president, with 74 percent reporting.

Wolfe found success in Arkansas despite Democratic Party officials dismissing any chance of him winning delegates because they say he did not file the correct paperwork. Wolfe called the pressure an effort to “tamp down turnout.”

George W. Bush's "Growth" Strategy

George W. Bush is back. And he’s got a plan!

From the NYT:

Two months from now, he plans to publish a book outlining strategies for economic growth. And on Tuesday, he made a rare return to Washington to promote freedom overseas.

Freedom overseas? Yes — it would be nice to be free of George W. Bush’s destructive and costly neocon agenda (and I know many people overseas agree) but sadly the current White House occupant seems to be following the same authoritarian script; Bush hit Iraq and Afghanistan, and Obama seems intent to expand the wars into Pakistan and Yemen.

On the economy, let’s judge him on his record:

Twins Born to Dead Father Ineligible for Benefits

Twins conceived in Florida from the frozen sperm of their father who died 18 months before their birth are not entitled to survivors benefits, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Monday.

The twins’ mother, Karen Capato, became pregnant through in vitro fertilization after the death of her husband, Robert Capato, from cancer in 2002. The Social Security Administration rejected her claim for Social Security survivors benefits, a decision upheld by the Supreme Court in a 9-0 vote.

“Tragic circumstances gave rise to this case,” Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote.

But the Social Security Act Congress passed in 1935, she wrote, calls for resolution of Karen Capato’s application for child’s insurance benefits to come under state law. “We cannot replace that reference by creating a uniform federal rule the statute’s text scarcely supports.”

US Citizens Now One Step Closer To Becoming Permanent Tax Slaves

This week, the universally stupid brainchild of US Senators Chuck Schumer and Bob Casey known as the Ex-PATRIOT Act inched a bit closer towards becoming law.

‘Ex-PATRIOT’ is an absurd acronym that stands for “Expatriation Prevention by Abolishing Tax-Related Incentives for Offshore Tenancy”. I call it the Tax Slave Act… and it proposes three key provisions:

1) Individuals who are deemed, in the sole discretion of the US government, to have renounced US citizenship in order to avoid US taxes, will be permanently barred from re-entering the United States.

2) Such individuals will also be required to pay a 30% capital gains tax to the United States government on ALL future investment gains derived from the US. Currently, non-citizens who do not reside in the US pay no US capital gains tax.

3) These proposals are RETROACTIVE, and, if passed, would apply to anyone who renounced his/her citizenship within the last 10-years.

During a Sunday interview with ABC News, House Speaker John Boehner threw his support behind the bill… certainly a big step towards its eventual passage.

Let Me Make Something Very Clear

Last week when I attended the Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, former Council President Mike Dunn presented his "Red, White & Boom" 4th of July package for the City of Salisbury. Mr. Dunn clearly stated that they had already raised $45,000.00 and each year the fireworks expense, (20 minutes long) would cost $20,000.00.

I want to make this very clear.

#1, Mr. Dunn's efforts are to be commended. Salisbury should have an INDEPENDENT 4th of July Celebration. After all, we are the biggest City on the Eastern Shore.

#2, Mr. Dunn openly expressed he has already raised the money for two and a quarter years for this event well before it even kicks off.

Now, that being said, I was absolutely stunned when Mr. Dunn finished his presentation and Mayor Jim Ireton stood in front of everyone there and announced the City, (John Pick) had found $5,000.00 in which the Mayor challenged anyone else to match those funds. Nevertheless, the Mayor verbally committed to $5,000.00 in which HE CANNOT DO!

That would be like the Mayor going to a local Bar and running up a tab and say, put it on the taxpayers without the City Council's knowledge or permission. This is the very reason we have checks and balances in government.

Perhaps many of you don't realize how government works. You see, we have a City Council to make sure this exact crap doesn't happen. The Mayor has NO RIGHT jumping up and saying someone can have something without the permission of the LEGISLATIVE body!

Now Mr. Pick is coming forward, (after the fact) and asking, (off the record) if the Council President would put this on the agenda. I say, hell no. Considering Mr. Dunn already stated they have more than 2 years worth of funding, since the City has already committed to police and fire protection, (which is HUGE money) there is absolutely NO NEED for this funding.

If Mr. Pick and Mayor Ireton had come to the City Council and the Council already knew there was private funding to cover the event for 2+ years they would be expected to vote it down.

Now don't come back here with comments like, it's 4th of July, we should participate. My hat is tipped to Mr. Dunn for finally doing something that doesn't cost the taxpayers. Should I be elected I can assure you I will always do everything in my powers to keep from taking from the taxpayers and get all I can done with private funding.

So when the Daily Times slams Terry Cohen and the rest of the Council for hopefully rejecting this offer, know the FACTS first. Know the Mayor made an illegal offer and had NO RIGHT to do so.

Man With Zebra, Parrot in Front Seat Charged With DUI

Police in Dubuque, Iowa, responded to an unusual call this week: reports of a zebra and a parrot in the front seat of a truck parked outside a bar. The striped animal and his fine feathered friend were there to keep their owner company, but weren’t allowed in the bar.

Jerald Reiter, 55, told police the zebra and maccaw parrot enjoy going for rides in his truck, so he brought them to the bar, which he says usually allows animals inside, ABC affiliate KCRG-TV reports.

When the motley crew got to the bar, they were told because food was being served, the animals wouldn’t be allowed inside. Bar owners told KCRG no animals are ever allowed inside.

Delegate Pat McDonough Launches Another Attack on Baltimore Mayor

Delegate Pat McDonough fired off another round of criticism Tuesday at Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake over violence at the Inner Harbor.

McDonough, R-District 7, who represents portions of Baltimore and Harford counties, has called for Rawlings-Blake to resign if she doesn't do more to make the Inner Harbor safer.

His latest ultimatum came as critics gathered Tuesday at a union hall in downtown Baltimore to demand an apology.

McDonough refused to back down from his assertion that roaming groups of African-American kids are causing fights and disorder at the Inner Harbor on busy weekends.

Cops Don't Make Me Feel Safe

It has been said – and I agree – that the typical person (i.e., the person just trying to get through the day, do their thing) has more to fear from a cop than a (non-official, non-uniformed) criminal.

Harsh? No, a reality check.

I’m in my mid-40s and – so far – have not been robbed at gunpoint by an ordinary criminal. But I have been robbed at gunpoint literally dozens of times by cops, who have a license to rob me. Cumulatively, the total I’ve had to “stand and deliver” – in the felicitous phrase of the appropriately named highway robber of yore – comes to thousands of dollars, over the past twenty-something years. It’s dressed up, of course – in order to make the cop feel better about himself and what he’s doing (he’s just keeping us safe, etc.) and also to douse the rage of his victim by getting him to accept what’s done to him as something other than it is.
That being, a robbery at gunpoint.

After all, I have committed no crime, properly speaking. I have caused no harm to anyone. Yet I am molested by a guy in a uniform – with a gun on his hip – because he has noticed I am not wearing a seat belt, or because my vehicle does not have the requisite tax stamps upon it, or because my velocity is greater than the velocity posted on a sign. It may not be any of these things. It may be simply that I happen to be on a given road at a given time. I – and all the others who happen to be on that road at that time – are forcibly compelled to interrupt our journey, roll down our windows and submit to a roadside inspection-interrogation, with the implicit threat of lethal violence if we fail in the slightest way to Submit and Obey.

It does not make me feel safe. Does it make you feel safe?

IRS Closes Facilities in Broad Real-Estate Consolidation Plan

In a broad move to wring more savings from real estate costs, the IRS announced it will close 43 small offices over the next two years and reduce space at many other larger facilities.

"Given today's tight budget environment, we have to be willing to make the tough but responsible calls to save taxpayer dollars," IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman said in a statement. "Cutting and consolidating our real estate is a responsible way we can save money. It's an important addition to our growing portfolio of cost-saving measures."

None of the offices to be shuttered provide taxpayer assistance, and all have fewer than 25 employees. The IRS said taxpayers would be only minimally affected by the closures.

IRS also plans to consolidate multiple offices "within the same commuting area" and will increase the use of desk-sharing and telework at other offices to save space.

Veterans Toss Their Medals Into The Chicago Street In Symbolic Protest

This article from yesterday’s NY Times on the protests at Chicago’s NATO summit has several interesting nuggets in it, including the arrest of some so called “domestic terrorists,” but the most interesting and powerful part of the protest occurred when about 40 veterans decided to toss their medals into the street as a form of protest against America’s ridiculous foreign policy.

Key passages:Led by about 40 men and women in American military uniforms who said they wished to return their medals as symbolic gestures, thousands of protesters opposed to war and to NATO or motivated by other issues marched down Michigan Avenue, winding their way as close as they could get to McCormick Place, where world leaders were holding the summit meeting.

At the end of a march route, about five blocks from McCormick Place, the small group of military veterans stood on a flatbed truck in a packed intersection, and, one by one, told stories of service and disenchantment. Then they heaved their medals into the empty street behind them.

What Is Wealth?

We all think we know what wealth is, but sometimes the "obvious" misses the mark.

Asking "what is wealth?" seems needless because we all know what wealth is: never having to work again, endless leisure, endless consumption of the "good things of life," being waited on hand and foot, luxurious belongings, vehicles and homes, a life of travel and sport, trust funds, stacks of secure gold, and so on.

All this is "obvious," but is that certainty illusory? There are many people with $2 million in net worth, a significant number with $20 million, and more than a few with $200 million. All would be considered wealthy by the average household earning $63,000 annually with a total net worth of less than $100,000, not to mention the 61 million American wage-earners who pull down less than $20,000 a year who own negligible net worth.

Those with a mere $2 million may not reckon themselves wealthy, if their eyes are fixed on those with $20 million. But if a wealthy person suddenly discovers they are riddled with fast-growing cancer, then they quickly lose interest in financial wealth except in terms of what medical treatment it can buy.

There really isn't much more modern medicine can do for someone worth $200 million than it can for someone worth $2 million; once one's life and health are at risk, then conceptions of "wealth" are drastically reordered: health is wealth, and nothing else matters.

Once lost, health is difficult to restore, and financial wealth is no longer the key metric. The graveyards are full of extremely wealthy people who died "before their time."

Consuming High Fructose Corn Syrup Causes Brain Damage - UCLA Research Shows

My Take: I read about the dangers of high fructose corn syrup about five years ago, and ever since then I try to check every product I purchase to insure it’s not in there. This study by researchers at UCLA should give everyone pause and I suggest at the very least you do your own homework. Particularly since it is apparently in a lot of baby food.

So after feeding rats high fructose corn syrup…

“Their brain cells had trouble signaling each other, disrupting the rats’ ability to think clearly and recall the route they’d learned six weeks earlier.”

In other words, eating too much fructose could interfere with insulin’s ability to regulate how cells use and store sugar, which is necessary for processing thoughts and emotions.

OBAMA'S DAUGHTERS ARE NOW 'SENIOR STAFFERS'?

By Judicial Watch, this March. And the administration had to be sued to get this through the FOI act. Way to go Judicial Watch.

'SENIOR STAFFERS' ? ? ?
Michelle Obama Listed Daughters as “Senior Staffers” on African "vacation"
Michelle Obama Listed Daughters As “Senior Staffers” To Justify Expensive African Vacation and Safari. October 5, 2011 The most accountable administration:

Judicial Watch said the U.S. Air Force provided a C-32 ( a Boeing 757) modified by the military for the purpose of flying big-wigs around the world – to fly the First Lady and her entourage to and from Africa , at a cost of $424,142. Another $928.44 was listed as “bulk food” costs of providing 192 onboard meals for the 21 people who made the trip.

The Obama daughters were listed on the manifest as “senior staff.”

“This trip was as much an opportunity for the Obama family to go on a safari as it was a trip to conduct government business,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “This junket wasted tax dollars and the resources of our overextended military. No wonder we had to sue to pry loose this information.” I missed this story yesterday, but it’s worthy of our attention. The nation is suffering with the economy sputtering, the national debt soaring and Obama’s economic rescue policies not only failing but actively making things worse.

Meanwhile, the First Lady justifies an expensive trip to Africa to take a vacation and safari with her daughters by saying it’s “official business” and even going so far as to list her children as “staffers.” The level of arrogance and dishonesty on display here is nothing short of shocking.

But, ER, “hope for change” and “yes we can.. It’s a true story. Check out these links...

On Indefinite Detention: The Tyranny Continues

The bad news from last week's passage of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act is that Americans can still be arrested on US soil and detained indefinitely without trial. Some of my colleagues would like us to believe that they fixed last year's infamous Sections 1021 and 1022 of the NDAA, which codified into law the unconstitutional notion that some Americans are not subject to the protections of the Constitution. However, nothing in this year's bill or amendments to the bill restored those constitutional rights.

Supporters of the one amendment that passed on this matter were hoping no one would notice that it did absolutely nothing. The amendment essentially stated that those entitled to habeas corpus protections are hereby granted habeas corpus protections. Thanks for nothing!

As Steve Vladeck, of American University's law school, wrote of this amendment:

"[T]he Gohmert Amendment does nothing whatsoever to address the central objections.... [I]t merely provides by statute a remedy that is already available to individuals detained within the United States; and says nothing about the circumstances in which individuals might actually be subject to military detention when arrested within the territory of United States.... Anyone within the United States who was subject to military detention before the FY2013 NDAA would be subject to it afterwards, as well..."

Actually, the amendment in question makes matters worse, as it states that anyone detained on US soil has the right to file a writ of habeas corpus "within 30 days" of arrest. In fact, persons detained on US soil already have the right to file a habeas petition immediately upon arrest!

Free Stuff

The Foundation

"Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government." --James Madison

I AM FORWARDING THIS EMAIL THAT I RECEIVED TODAY TO A FEW OF THE "THINKERS" IN MY ADDRESS BOOK.&nbs p; IT REFLECTS THE FEELINGS OF A LOT OF PEOPLE.

I have never heard this said as simply or as well. Class war at its best.

The folks who are getting the free stuff don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.

And, the folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop.

And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now... the people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.

So... the people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than payin g for the free stuff.

Now understand this. All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded. The reason?

The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 236 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff. We have one chance to change that in 2012. Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

Immigration Agency Opens Gate for Online Applications

After years of planning and months of delays, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service launched its portal for online applications on Tuesday. USCIS Director Alejandro Mayorkas told The Federal Drive with Tom Temin and Emily Kopp they are calling the new electronic information system "ELIS," in recognition of the historical immigration gateway Ellis Island.

The logo for the new system even includes an image of the Statue of Liberty, which welcomed immigrants to the country as they entered Ellis Island.

"This is really the beginning of the future for our agency," Mayorkas said.

Tuesday's launch is the first phase in the agency's comprehensive Transformation Program. When completed, the USCIS will manage 6 to 7 million applications online every year.

Snopes No More?

Many of the emails that I have sent or forwarded that had any anti Obama in it were negated by Snopes. I thought that was odd. Check this out.

Snopes, Soros and the Supreme Court's Kagan.

We-l-l-l-l now, I guess the time has come to check out Snopes! Ya' don't suppose it might not be a good time to take a second look at some of the stuff that got kicked in the ditch by Snopes, do ya'?

We've known that it was owned by a lefty couple but hadn't known it to be financed by Soros!
Snopes is heavily financed by George Soros, a big time supporter of Obama! In our Search for the truth department, we find what I have suspected on many occasions.

I went to Snopes to check something about the dockets of the new Supreme Court Justice. Elena Kagan, who Obama appointed, and Snopes said the email was false and there were no such dockets. So I Googled the Supreme Court, typed in Obama-Kagan, and guess what? Yep, you got it; Snopes Lied! Everyone of those dockets are there.

So Here is what I wrote to Snopes:

Referencing the article about Elana Kagan and Barak Obama dockets:

The information you have posted stating that there were no such cases as claimed and the examples you gave are blatantly false. I went directly to the Supreme Courts website, typed in Obama Kagan and immediately came up with all of the dockets that the article made reference to. I have long suspected that you really slant things but this was really shocking. Thank You. I hope you will be much more truthful in the future, but I doubt it.

That being said, Ill bet you didn't know this.

Kagan was representing Obama in all the petitions to prove his citizenship. Now she may help rule on them. Folks, this is really ugly.

Chicago Politics and the beat goes on and on and on. Once again the US Senate sold us out!
Now we know why Obama nominated Elana Kagan for the Supreme Court. Pull up the Supreme Courts website, go to the docket and search for Obama. She was the Solicitor General for all the suits against him filed with the Supreme Court to show proof of natural born citizenship. He owed her big time. All of the requests were denied of course. They were never heard. It just keeps getting deeper and deeper, doesn't it? The American people mean nothing any longer.

It's all about payback time for those who compromised themselves to elect someone who really has no true right to even be there.

Here are some websites of the Supreme Court Docket: You can look up some of these hearings and guess what?

Elana Kagan is the attorney representing Obama!

Today's Survey Question 5-23-12

How many televisions do you have in your home?

Memory Hole: Socialist Failures

What is the longest-running socialist experiment? What has its success been?

If someone asked you to defend the idea that socialism has failed, what would you offer as your example?

Where did modern socialism begin?

In America.

That's right: in the land of the free and the home of the braves. On Indian reservations.

They were invented to control adult warriors. They had as a goal to keep the native population in poverty and impotent.

Did the system work? You bet it did.

Has the experiment been a failure? On the contrary, it has been a success.

When was the last time you heard of a successful Indian uprising?

Are the people poor? The poorest in America.

Are they on the dole? Of course.

Last year, the U. S. Department of Agriculture allocated $21 million to provide subsidized electricity to residents on the reservations whose homes are the most distant from jobs and opportunities. You can read about this here. This will keep them poor. Tribal power means tribal impotence.

The tribes are dependent. They will stay dependent. That was what the program was designed to achieve.

Supreme Court Lets Stand Student's $675,000 Penalty For Downloading

Without commenting on the merits of the case, the Supreme Court this morning let stand a $675,000 jury verdict against a 25-year-old Boston University student who downloaded 30 songs nearly a decade ago and then shared them with others on a peer-to-peer network.

The court denied Joel Tenenbaum's "write of certiorari," which means his appeal of a lower court's ruling and the judgment were turned down.

California Senate Votes To Allow Self-Driving Cars

(Reuters) - California took a step toward becoming the second state in the nation to allow self-driven cars on its roads on Monday, as the state Senate unanimously agreed to allow autonomously driven vehicles such as those pioneered by Google.

Google's self-driving cars have already crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and driven along the picturesque Pacific Coast Highway, according to the company, which has taken California lawmakers on test drives.

"I had the pleasure of going out for a drive on the autonomous vehicle," California state Senator Alan Lowenthal said before the unopposed vote. "I have to say that there are some still issues with it, but it's a better driver than I am."

5 Of 10 Falsely Convicted Prisoners Are African American

A new U.S. registry put together by two universities highlights more than 2,000 innocents who were falsely convicted of serious crimes since 1989. A closer look demonstrates that half of those exonerated were African American.

The University of Michigan Law School and Northwestern University School of Law worked together to compile the data, for which they collected detailed information on 873 exonerations. Nearly 1,200 additional exonerations were identified by the researchers, although there is less data for those.

Breaking down the numbers on the 873 exonerations, researchers found that five of out ten defendants were African Americans; nine out of ten were men. More than 100 of the 873 exonerations were prisoners that had been facing death sentences.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker Appoints ‘Deer Czar’ Who Says Deer-Hunting Is Communist

If there is one thing Wisconsinites love, we are told, it is murdering poor defenseless Bambi with a gun. Democrats love shooting Bambi, Republicans love shooting Bambi, independents and children and cripples and ladies and men all LURVE killing them some deer. Sometimes for food, sometimes to preserve their public lands from deer overpopulation, sometimes to have dominion over all God’s beasts or something. This is the most bipartisan thing there could possibly be, in Wisconsin. So what did hero Governor Scott Walker do? He appointed as the state’s “deer czar” one Dr. James Kroll, who thinks public management of public lands is “the last bastion of Communism.” Better dead then red, derp!

The public lands Kroll despises include the state parks, state and national forests, and other publicly held property that hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites—particularly in the northern part of the state—rely on for deer hunting. Hunters on public land may be surprised to discover that Walker regards their annual trek into a state forest as a radical left wing activity akin to marching in a May Day parade in Red Square. But so it is. If Kroll gets his way, public land hunters will get the shaft. The deer herd no longer would be managed as a public resource, but as the private property of wealthy landowners. Wisconsin will become like Europe, where hunting is the privilege of the wealthy.

Hmmm, it almost sounds as if all the “small-government conservatives” what love to kill stuff dead might get fucked over by voting for a “small-government conservative.” Wouldn’t that be rich!

SAUERBREY: Maryland Democrats Show Their True Colors

The lights had barely gone out on the Annapolis special session, called to increase income taxes, when the Department of Labor jobs numbers came out for April. It reported that Maryland led the nation in job losses, dropping by 6,000. Is there a connection to government policy? You bet.

As taxes are raised in Maryland, businesses and private-sector jobs are collateral damage. About 81,000 Maryland businesses are organized as Subchapter S corporations and are taxed at personal income-tax rates. Faced with an unanticipated personal income-tax increase, many of these businesses will be unable to hire or may even have to reduce their current workforce. This is insanity in a state that needs to create nearly 150,000 additional jobs just to return to pre-recessionary levels.

The personal income tax is a major factor for business retention and relocation decisions. CEOs understand that locating in Maryland will subject their own personal salary to one of the highest tax burdens in the country. After comparing the 9 percent top personal income-tax rate in Maryland with 5.75 percent in Virginia, major business leaders have chosen Virginia.

Rev Jesse Lee Peterson Says Women Shouldn’t Be Allowed To Vote

What’s wrong with the United States? Simple . . . women voters, that’s what!

At least, according to Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson, a frequent guest on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News. Hannity also sits on the board of directors of Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny, which aims to promote a conservative agenda to black Americans.

A frequent Fox News guest has drawn wide condemnation for saying women should have never been given the right to vote.

In a sermon that was posted on YouTube in March, Rev Jesse Lee Peterson said women are leading the United States down a path of wickedness because they have too much political power.

Fox News host Sean Hannity has invited Rev Peterson on his show several times, including after the video was posted, and sits on the board of the conservative activist’s organization.

The remark seemed to draw disagreement, if not condemnation, from Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch, who tweeted: ‘When? Women voting is best thing in a hundred years.’

Rev Peterson’s fiery statement had drawn immense criticism.

‘I think that one of the greatest mistakes America made was to allow women the opportunity to vote,’ Peterson said in the sermon.

‘We should’ve never turned this over to women. It was a big mistake… And these women are voting in the wrong people. They’re voting in people who are evil who agrees (sic) with them who’re gonna take us down this pathway of destruction.

2010 Census Missed More than 1.5M Minorities

The 2010 census missed more than 1.5 million minorities after struggling to count black Americans, Hispanics, renters and young men, but was mostly accurate, the government said Tuesday.

The Census Bureau released an extensive assessment of its high-stakes, once-a-decade headcount of the U.S. population. Based on a sample survey, the government analysis has been a source of political controversy in the past over whether to "statistically adjust" census results to correct for undercounts, which usually involve minorities who tend to vote Democratic.

The findings show the 2010 census over-counted the total U.S. population by 36,000 people, or 0.01 percent, due mostly to duplicate counts of affluent whites owning multiple homes. That is an improvement from a census over-count of 0.5 percent in 2000.

Risk Of Landlord Liability Rises In Pit Bull Attack Cases

Maryland landlords beware: the state's highest court has made it much easier for victims of attacks by pit bulls or pit bull mixes to win judgments-not only against the dog's owner, but also against any landlord that allows a pit bull or pit bull mix on leased premises.

To avoid liability, prohibitions on pit bulls or pit bull mixes in rental properties may become common. In light of the ruling, landlords and residential property managers should review their pet policies and consider changing them.

Previously, the Maryland courts had ruled that a landlord would be liable for a dog attack only if the landlord had "knowledge of past vicious behavior by the animal."

Now, in Tracey v. Solesky, the Court of Appeals of Maryland has concluded pit bulls and their crossbreeds are "inherently dangerous because of their aggressive and vicious natures, and their capability to inflict serious or fatal injuries."

As a result, the court decided that victims of pit bull or crossbred pit bull attacks don't have to prove any history of vicious behavior or knowledge of that viciousness.

The burden of proof on plaintiffs is now much lighter. To win the case, a plaintiff must only prove that the dog was a pit bull or crossbred pit bull and that the dog's owner or the landlord knew, or had reason to know, that the dog was a pit bull or crossbred pit bull mix.

Legally, the Tracey decision significantly alters the landscape in pit bull attack cases by establishing a "strict liability" standard for both dog owners and property owners.
