Found Cat

Hi Joe,

I have seen so much success on your site for lost and found animals and I am hoping you can help find this kitty's owner. We are not sure if they are a girl or a boy because they are very shy but seems to have been a house cat at some point. They have been hanging around our house for quite some time now, but this was the first picture we were able to get. Please call 443-614-2405 if they are yours.

California Medical Assn. Calls For Legalization Of Marijuana

The doctor group questions the medical value of pot and acknowledges some health risk from its use but urges it be regulated like alcohol. A law enforcement official harshly criticizes the new stance.

The state's largest doctor group is calling for legalization of marijuana, even as it pronounces cannabis to be of questionable medical value.

Trustees of the California Medical Assn., which represents more than 35,000 physicians statewide, adopted the position at their annual meeting in Anaheim late Friday. It is the first major medical association in the nation to urge legalization of the drug, according to a group spokeswoman, who said the larger membership was notified Saturday.

Labor Dept. Did Not Protect Personal Information On Computers, Audit Finds

Personal information about licenses and unemployment – including names, addresses, birth dates, credit card and Social Security numbers – was left relatively unguarded on computers at the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, and may have been targeted for fraud, according to legislative auditors.

The audit of DLLR’s Office of the Secretary, Division of Administration, and Division of Workforce Development detailed several major problems with computer security at the agency known as Dollar. Most of the problems were in the administrative computer systems, which handle professional licenses and unemployment insurance.

“If you’re going to accept payments with credit cards, you have to have controls in place,” said Legislative Auditor Bruce Myers.

The loan was given in 2002 to allow Maxwell to begin work on "The Last Full Measure" and to produce at least half of it in Washington County.

After 3 Disasters, No Federal Help For Va. Town

LOUISA, Va. (AP) - Residents of this rural community just outside Richmond know they may be lucky, seeing as how no one died in the earthquake, hurricane and tornado that have hit back-to-back-to-back in the past few months. That doesn't mean they aren't bitter: "Louisa cares: Because the feds don't," read Friday's headline atop the local newspaper.

Does Open-Carry Gun Ban Make California Safer?

Gov. Jerry Brown's decision to ban the open carrying of handguns puts California squarely against the national tide at a time when many other states have acted to ease gun laws.

Assemblyman Anthony Portantino (D) is the author of the open carry ban, signed this week by Gov. Jerry Brown, that makes it a misdemeanor to carry an exposed and unloaded gun in public or in vehicles.

In announcing that he had signed the bill Monday, Governor Brown – a Democrat who owns three guns – said he was acting upon the advice of law-enforcement officials, including Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca.

Cain's 'Impossible Dream' Resonates With Voters

Herman Cain is firing up the crowd at a tea party rally in this West Tennessee town when the generator powering his sound system shudders to a halt.

Cain stands awkwardly for a few moments then suddenly begins to sing. Slowly at first but gaining in speed, he belts out "Impossible Dream" in the rich baritone he's honed in church choir.
"You know, when it's your rally, you can do what you want to do!" Cain says as he finishes with a raucous laugh. The 500 or so supporters who have jammed the strip mall parking lot to hear the Republican Party's newest star speak roar their approval.

The handyman has been arrested on charges not related to the Irwin case, but again, police are questioning him about the baby's whereabouts.

The Missouri National Guard is being deployed Sunday to help search for Lisa in Kansas City.

Herman Cain

Are you aware of Herman Cain’s resume? Here are some facts you need to know:

Herman Cain is running for president. He’s not a career politician (in fact he has never held political office). He’s known as a pizza guy, but there’s a lot more to him. He’s also a computer guy, a banker guy, and a rocket scientist guy.

Here’s his bio:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
Master’s degree in Computer Science.
Mathematician for the Navy, where he worked on missile ballistics (making him a rocket scientist).
Computer systems analyst for Coca-Cola.
VP of Corporate Data Systems and Services for Pillsbury (this is the top of the ladder in the computer world, being in charge of information systems for a major corporation).

All achieved before reaching the age of 35.

Since he reached the top of the information systems world, he changed careers!

Business Manager. Took charge of Pillsbury’s 400 Burger King restaurants in the Philadelphia area, which were the company’s poorest performers in the country. Spent the first nine months learning the business from the ground up, cooking hamburger and yes, cleaning toilets. After three years he had turned them into the company’s best performers.

Godfather’s Pizza CEO. Was asked by Pillsbury to take charge of their Godfather’s Pizza chain (which was on the verge of bankruptcy). He made it profitable in 14 months.
In 1988 he led a buyout of the Godfather’s Pizza chain from Pillsbury. He was now the owner of a restaurant chain. Again he reached the top of the ladder of another industry.

He was also chairman of the National Restaurant Association during this time. This is a group that interacts with government on behalf of the restaurant industry, and it gave him political experience from the non-politician side.

Having reached the top of a second industry, he changed careers again!

Adviser to the Federal Reserve System. Herman Cain went to work for the Federal Reserve Banking System advising them on how monetary policy changes would affect American businesses. Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. He worked his way up to the chairmanship of a regional Federal Reserve bank. This is only one step below the chairmanship of the entire Federal Reserve System (the top banking position in the country). This position allowed him to see how monetary policy is made from the inside, and understand the political forces that impact the monetary system.

After reaching the top of the banking industry, he changed careers for a fourth time!

Writer and public speaker. He then started to write and speak on leadership. His books include Speak as a Leader, CEO of Self, Leadership is Common Sense, and They Think You’re Stupid.

Radio Host. Around 2007—after a remarkable 40 year career—he started hosting a radio show on WSB in Atlanta (the largest talk radio station in the country).

He did all this starting from rock bottom (his father was a chauffeur and his mother was a maid). When you add up his accomplishments in his life—including reaching the top of three unrelated industries: information systems, business management, and banking—Herman Cain may have the most impressive resume of anyone that has run for the presidency in the last half century.

When You're Just Not Feelin' It...

He used to make your heart go pitter patter just by looking at him. But now, you find yourself totally flatlined and drifting towards that low or no sex zone. Why do we lose that attraction that brought us together in the first place? More importantly, what can we do about it? We talked to Lori W. Hollander, LCSW-C, BCD, of Relationships Work.

"There are many reasons that partners lose the feeling of attraction to their partner," she says. "Your sexual and emotional attraction will not maintain itself without conscious and sustained effort."

Thousands Rally In DC For Easier Access To Jobs

WASHINGTON (AP) — Thousands of people led by the Rev. Al Sharpton rallied Saturday near the Washington Monument, where speakers called for easier job access and decried the gulf between rich and poor before the crowd marched to the new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.

The rally was intended to drum up support for President Barack Obama's jobs plan, which died Tuesday in the U.S. Senate. But speakers used the platform for varied causes, including condemning state laws requiring voter identification at the polls and protesting the recent execution of Troy Davis, a Georgia man convicted of killing an off-duty police officer. Davis maintained his innocence until his death and attracted thousands of supporters worldwide even though courts repeatedly ruled there wasn't enough evidence to exonerate him.

THE POWER OF YOU 10-16-11

Welcome All! Love this weather! Hi, to our new friends who read our article and decided to join us, and as always to our regulars!

Football season: Well our Ravens are doing well so far, thank the good Lord for our defense last week. We along with the Skins were off last week, so hopefully all my great Pittsburg fans are happy with their outcome. See what happens when your boy gets married? JUST KIDDING! Ha!

Steve Jobs 1955-2011 To say farewell to a brilliant man is certainly an under statement! To quote a much quoted quote about him: This one from Time, He became the most celebrated, successful business executive of his generation--in 2011, Apple’s market capitalization passed that of Exxon Mobil, making it the planet’s most valuable company--and he did it all the wrong way. He didn’t listen to his customers. Jobs liked to quote Wayne Gretzky; “ You don’t skate to where the puck is, you skate to where it’s going to be !”

Now just imagine for a moment if America would get back to…well, being America. If people hand the attitude that I have a great idea and it can help America stay great? Not these people who just sit around and wait for the next government check! I like the recent attitude of Mitt, don’t vote for me if you don’t want the greatness of America to prevail over any other country in the world! If you like the continuing decline, then keep doing what you are doing, and keep the leadership you have! Let us give to our kids and grand kids the America where and what we want it to be!

The only part of the Jobs article I did not agree with is the part where they say he is not one of us. Maybe in many areas no, but there had to be times throughout his life, just like us, where he has to think about the end on this earth. I do not know the man or his thoughts of eternity. However I do know this, our God sends no one to Hell. He gives us the authority everyday on this earth to decide where we want to spend eternity and a plan of action to get there. Steve Jobs with all his billions and all the good things he did with his billions is still not in heaven, if he hasn’t faced the question, is Jesus Christ our Savior and do I accept it? He has the exact same opportunity to accept as you and I do. So yes you and Jobs are exactly alike when it comes to the most important question of the universe, where will I choose to go when I leave this earth. Just saying, the choice for you to ponder this question here and now, as always, is given to the power of you.

So from high school kids, to college graduates, adults on unemployment and others remember, don’t necessarily look for work where work is but perhaps where it will be? If you need help with that give me a call.

Yours in all areas of life,

Secret Mission: The Horse Soldiers Of 9/11

It was the news the world breathlessly waited for immediately after the 9/11 terror attacks: a report of the first American troops on the ground in Afghanistan.

All at once the world’s attention focused on an iconic photo of those Special Operations Forces doing something no American military had done in nearly a century: They rode horses into combat.

Their secret mission: secure northern Afghanistan by advising the warring tribal factions that formed the Northern Alliance. During the 2011 Veterans Day Parade on November 11, a new monument to these men — and to all Americans in uniform — will make its way down New York City’s famed Fifth Avenue on the way to its final home, a stone’s throw from Ground Zero.

Texas Man Told to Return FEMA Aid Money

A Texas man who received FEMA funds after Hurricane Ike is being asked to return the aid money.

Clay Gates applied for federal funds after Ike pushed four or five feet of saltwater through his La Porte, Texas, home in 2008. Gates said he jumped through hoops, showing officials every document and picture they asked to see.

“We got a letter saying, ‘Hey, you qualified for this amount of benefits,’” Gates told MyFoxHouston. “And the next thing you know they direct-deposited money in our account.”

THE GAY FLIGHT ATTENDANT

My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant , who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks.

As the plane prepared to descend , he came swishing down the aisle and told us that 'Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people , if you could just put your trays up, that would be super.'

On his trip back up the aisle , he noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. 'Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground.'

She calmly turned her head and said , 'In my country , I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one.'

To which (I swear) the flight attendant replied , without missing a beat ,

'Well , sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen , so I outrank you. Tray-up , Bitch!'
