ReplyDeleteYes, and while we're all glad it's not a CAT 3 storm any more, people shouldn't get fooled that it's a cakewalk.
ReplyDeletePeople think it's all about the wind. Underestimating the storm surge and flood is a mistake. Storm surges do a lot of damage and flooding can be deadly.
Irene isn't slamming into a landwall, then dying. She's rolling up the entire coastline with power to spare. Makes a difference.
