A Bad Day For America
Despite overwhelming opposition by the American public, on Sunday the House of Representatives passed the Obama/ Pelosi health care bill. Yesterday the bill was signed into law and tax increases, more government spending, and bureaucrat-run health care became the law of the land . After passage of the bill by the House, I released the following statement:
"The Democrat controlled Congress has taken our country in a perilous direction. With last night's health care vote, a signal was sent to the American people that their voice does not matter and that the tax and spend, big government policies of Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama trump the will of the people. If Nancy Pelosi was not elected Speaker of the House by the Democrats, than this so called reform would not have seen the light of day.
As a physician, I am troubled that our elected representatives would vote to turn back the clock on the health care advances we've made over the past 30 years. When elected, I will vote to repeal this legislation so that we can begin work on true health care reform."
We all seen and heard the debate, this bill is the wrong way to approach health care reform. Government-run health care is not what this doctor ordered and as I said in my statement to the press, when elected to Congress I will vote to repeal the Obama/ Pelosi health care bill!
Wicomico County Free Library
Possible relocation of the Wicomico County Library was discussed on March 23 by the Board of Directors of the Wicomico Neighborhood Congress, who voted to endorse the locations in downtown Salisbury proposed by the city, rather than to favor relocation to a suburban area. Although our Congress Board is representative of all areas of Wicomico County, we concluded after ample discussion that a center city location was essential to the overall economic progress of the County, and to the welfare and advancement of all of its citizens.
Among the important factors considered by our Board members are the following:
A downtown location is vital to the present maintenance and future resurgence of Salisbury’s city center. To simply close the downtown facility would be disastrous.
A downtown location in the center of the Metro Core is essential to smart growth principles incorporated into County and State land use planning.
None of the suggested suburban locations will be as accessible to residents of both the eastern and western sectors of the County.
None of the suggested suburban locations will be accessible at all – by public transportation or foot traffic – to the segments of our County population (including students) most in need of the services which the library can provide.
Parking is readily available in center city Salisbury, while a suburban location will require paving of many acres of present open space – destroying fields or forests, and contributing also to storm water runoff, increased traffic, and related environmental ills.
Economic studies in other Maryland counties (Washington, Frederick, Carroll) and elsewhere have shown the immense economic and social impact of a new library in the revitalization of our small cities, and rebirth of downtown commerce.
We hope you will take into consideration these important factors, prompting endorsement of a downtown site by the Wicomico Neighborhood Congress. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Cindy Pilchard, Chair

Bull X-ing?
CBS Is Letting You Rate The President?
Wow!!
First, I can't believe CBS is actually doing this.
Second, that they're brave and honest enough to actually show the ongoing polling results.
Take the poll yourself and when you submit your grading of how he is handling the top issues, a second page will come up showing the current results of how America is voting. Remember, this ain't Fox doing this. This is mostly people who watch CBS. That's telling.
DO THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and pass it on.
This is a CBS poll on Obama's first year performance....
I checked, it is really CBS webpage, I could not believe it either.
Here's your chance to grade the President!

“Let’s Not”
When Debbie Campbell asked the code compliance lady how the city would get the taxpayers’ money back from those people or businesses that didn’t shovel walks and the city had to, Gary Comegys basically said “Let’s not enforce our laws.”
That’s my money! I cleared my walk. Why should I have to pay to clear somebody else’s? Oh, I forgot, this is the guy who gave my money away to his developer buddies and helped his slumlord buddies never get enforced about anything. Now our once pretty city is a hell hole of crime and looks like the slums of Baltimore!
Comegys went into a tirade about how awful a job the city did on the snow removal. I agree there were problems but it sounded more like what he meant to say was “I’m still mad you didn’t elect me mayor!”
I felt so sorry for the lady from the code compliance office. They responded to complaints. As Terry Cohen pointed out people would have been real mad if the code people had not responded to the complaints. I got so mad I actually said to the lady though the TV “damned if you do and damned if you don’t!”
Shanie Shields wants to know who got fined. Why? So she can cut her friends a deal?
Louise Smith said it wasn’t fair because snow plows would push snow back onto what was cleared. Shouldn’t she be complaining to State Highway or Public Works about that? If someone throws a bag of garbage in my yard, do I just leave it there? No! Oh, that’s right, if I lived in Church Street, Louise Smith would come clean it up for me!
Louise Smith got even worse. When Terry Cohen tried to set the record straight about Debbie Campbell and PAC14, Smith basically said, “Let’s not set the record straight.” I don’t know what Cohen was going to say but I guess it was that Debbie Campbell didn’t miss all the meetings the PAC14 Club, I mean board, said she did. The Club, I mean board, doesn’t want anyone responsible about money on there. I like watching PAC14 for meetings but I think something odd has been going on with that group.
So much for “government in the sunshine” that Smith promised. The only thing transparent about Louise Smith is her lack of transparency! Isn't she the one who was signing contracts in secret or something?
Oh and here’s another “Let’s not”! Try “let’s not protect the taxpayer!” During the part where they change or give contracts, they were doing something to a filter at the wastewater treatment plant that will cost more money (of course!) Terry Cohen asked if they had anything in the contract in case the filter gets damaged by the people working on it. The public works guy said “no and we never had a problem before.” He looked at Cohen like she was nuts. Why doesn’t the city put things like that in their contracts? It’s crazy not too! I had work done on a house once and one of the workers broke a window. The company had to replace it. Just because something hasn’t happened before doesn’t mean it can’t happen. If that guy does our contracts he should be fired.
What’s wrong with this city is a bunch of people saying “let’s not do what we’re supposed to do.” I will help any smart person get elected next year. Joe, is Terry Cohen running again? I will help her if she does! If we just had some more people who have a brain and use it like her and Debbie Campbell, I think I would faint at the idea that this city could actually get somewhere good instead of the constant score of “Stupid, 3. Smart, 2.”
Thanks for letting me vent, Joe. I can’t travel to DC and Annapolis. Maybe it’s time we get back to minding the disaster in our own back yard.

Maryland Delegation Rolls Out The Red Carpet For One Sarah Foxwell Family Member
As promised, I told everyone I would follow Bill 254 through to the very end and yesterday I spent the day in Annapolis with many of those who worked diligently to make sure the Maryland Sex Offender Laws were strengthened. Speaker Bush invited us into his Office and offered us something rarely seen on the floor. He invited us to sit on the floor with the entire Delegation, (rarely done) while they debated Bill 254, which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Tracey Powell joined me on this journey, (Sarah Foxwell's Aunt) to represent the Family. Sheriff Mike Lewis was present and also joined us on the floor and they presented the Bill in its final form and received multiple standing ovations as they announced our presence.
When the Bill finally passed they invited Sheriff Lewis and Mrs. Powell to stand with Speaker Bush as the entire Delegation again rose to their feet in yet another standing ovation. It was absolutely breathtaking.
Folks, I can't thank each and every one of you enough for your support, your phone calls, your e-mail messages, our Delegates, Senators, Congressmen and yes, even our Governor not only listened, they have proposed changes that will set a new bar in the state of Maryland against Sex Offenders that all of us should be very proud of.
I want to personally thank Sheriff Lewis for his support yesterday as he comforted Mrs. Powell in a very difficult and emotional experience, one in which I can assure all of you the Foxwell Family will never forget. Tracey Powell is the sister of Sarah Foxwell's Father.
I personally never expected such a reception and my hat is also tipped to each and every Delegate who welcomed us with open arms. We were also comforted by Jan & Ann Wiseman, (Ann just received the Top 100 Women Award in the state of Maryland) who also joined us in this celebration. A very special thanks goes out to Norm Conway and Jim Mathias for their tireless work on this legislation as well as Delegate Mike Smigiel.
This Bill provides a mandatory 15 year sentence on first time offenders, no possibility for parole.
I'll have more on this experience later today.

Airport Grants
Was this Yet Another Backroom Deal to Force Obama’s Bill Down the American People’s Throats?
Three airports in the district of infamous fence-sitting and ultimately kowtowing Democrat Bart Stupak were awarded $726,409 in grants by the Obama Administration just two days before a vote on Obama and Pelosi’s government takeover of healthcare.
Did Stupak compromise his supposed principled stand against taxpayer funding of abortion in exchange for taxpayer dollars for pet projects?
Alpena County Regional Airport received a $85,500 grant, but had only 7,519 passenger boardings in 2008 (the most recent year for which there is information) according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data. Alpena County Regional Airport serves fewer passengers than even the late Rep. John Murtha’s famous “Airport for Nobody.”
Delta County Airport has even less customers than that, but still received a $179,209 grant.
Chippewa County International Airport received a $461,700 grant, but had only 13,733 passenger boardings in 2008.
Will Stupak come clean about this apparent backroom deal for his vote?
Call Stupak’s district office at (989) 356-0690 and ask.
BILL A BAILOUT FOR BIG PHARMA AND BIG INSURANCE
CHICAGO: The following statement was released today by GOP Nominee Isaac Hayes following the signing of health care reform by President Obama.
Yesterday, President Obama signed the highly contested health care bill into law. However, most Americans are not celebrating. The President attributes the country’s anger to the “sausage making process,” but Isaac Hayes, GOP nominee for Illinois 2nd Congressional district, believes resentments about the bill run far deeper.
“Everything about this process has left a bad taste in the mouths of the American people” said Hayes. “The backroom deals, the there are no rules committees, the abandoning of unborn life, and the secret meetings with Big Pharma and Big Insurance.”
According to Hayes, this is “the second time the people’s voices have been ignored”, referring to the bank bailout as the first. He goes on to say that the bill amounts to nothing more than a “bailout of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.”

Headache On Horizon For GOP As It Weighs Health Reform Repeal
Lawmakers and strategists are determining the benefits of targeting President Barack Obama’s huge legislative achievement this November versus focusing more attention on what Democrats haven’t achieved — more jobs, lower unemployment and a significant improvement in the economy.
Democrats have made the political calculus even more difficult by structuring the healthcare bill so the popular provisions begin immediately while significant tax impacts are delayed until 2013.
That hasn’t stopped GOP leaders, including Mitt Romney and Sen. Jim DeMint (S.C.), from strongly advocating for repeal as a major campaign theme.
“It raises taxes, slashes the more private side of Medicare, installs price controls and puts a new federal bureaucracy in charge of healthcare,” Romney, a potential 2012 presidential candidate, said of Obama’s healthcare reform in a statement.
But stressing healthcare could muddy the GOP message on jobs and the economy and put its candidates in danger of appearing callous or getting bogged down in intricate policy arguments.
“I don’t see it as a great argument for Republican campaigns this year,” said Joseph Antos, a healthcare scholar at the conservative-leaning American Enterprise Institute. “I don’t see healthcare as such as a big issue for them. I think it’s economy and jobs.”
Antos said Republican candidates would be in a tricky position because if they campaigned on a broad repeal of the Democratic healthcare reform law, it would open them up to political attack.
If they chose to focus on overturning narrow provisions of the law, those arguments are “more technical and more complicated and not prone to the sound bite — they’re not really good on a campaign poster,” Antos said.
Republicans advocating repeal will be competing with popular provisions that start immediately, while having to warn against less attractive items that voters won’t feel for some time.
By August, the law will bar insurance companies from excluding children with pre-existing medical conditions and allow children to stay on their family policies until age 26.
This year, it will reduce the size of the Medicare drug benefit “doughnut hole” by $500, helping seniors whose prescription drug costs are not covered by the current program. It will also provide $5 billion in federal funding to create purchasing pools to help high-risk individuals buy insurance.
Taxes will go up by only $8.5 billion through 2012, the presidential election year, most of it to be borne by drug manufacturers and high-income earners.
It’s not until the year after the election that the $31.9 billion in tax increases go into effect, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation.
Beginning in 2010, the legislation would also provide tax credits to small businesses to give healthcare benefits to employees. Tax credits of up to 35 percent of premiums would be made available to companies immediately.
The only taxes that will kick in this year are a 10 percent excise tax on indoor tanning services and a fee on insurance companies, which are expected to earn less than $100 million for 2010.
“Even if Republicans scored a 1994-style landslide in November, how many votes could we muster to reopen the ‘doughnut hole’ and charge seniors more for prescription drugs?” wrote David Frum, who was a speechwriter for former President George W. Bush and has questioned the wisdom of Republicans campaigning on a repeal message. “How many votes to re-allow insurers to rescind policies when they discover a pre-existing condition? How many votes to banish 25-year-olds from their parents’ insurance coverage?”
Frum noted in an essay published Sunday that even if Republicans captured the Senate and the House, they could not deliver on a promise to repeal healthcare reform because Obama would still occupy the White House and would veto the effort.
PRUDEN: Now Comes November
"This," the president said, interrupting his undivided attention to a basketball game to celebrate the House vote, "is what change looks like." Alas, it's what an abortion looks like. What the president and the Democrats don't want to think about is that the public has already looked at this "change" and can't wait to punish a lot of somebodies for it.
The first rush of euphoria that greets a presidential legislative triumph has given way in record time to stark reality. Sobering up quickly was inevitable. This was a health care takeover by the government that nobody wanted and even in the Democratic majority nobody wanted to be seen voting for. Only a perverted sense of party loyalty carried the day. Nancy Pelosi's overheard remark to Steny Hoyer, the majority leader, as they walked into the Capitol said it all: "We've got to find at least one more than 216 votes because nobody wants to be blamed for casting the deciding vote."

Obama Restores Cash-Strapped ACORN's Funding As Reward For HealthCare Support
By Matthew Vadum
President Obama has quietly moved behind the scenes to restore full funding to the radical group ACORN, which was his former employer and legal client. In a move ignored by the media, OMB director Peter Orszag circulated a directive to federal agencies ordering them to begin funding ACORN again. ACORN is the hyperpartisan lead group in the Health Care for America Now (HCAN) coalition and has long supported a government takeover of the U.S. health care system.
The fiscal floodgates will soon re-open for ACORN despite a congressional ban on funding the activist group that has long been a practitioner of election fraud. In a March 16 memo Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director Peter Orszag ordered federal agencies to resume funding the group whose employees were caught on hidden camera videos last year condoning and encouraging a variety of crimes including child prostitution and tax evasion.
The memo came a week after renegade federal judge Nina Gershon of the Eastern District of New York made permanent her temporary injunction prohibiting Congress from cutting off funding for ACORN. The memo also came despite the fact that the Department of Justice is planning to appeal Gershon's ruling and seek a stay pending appeal.
ACORN is under indictment in Nevada for election fraud. Jury selection in set to begin in the summer in Las Vegas. ACORN is also teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.
The New York Times noticed this fact only today and got around to reporting it four months after I reported it right here at TAS.

New Rally Cry: Don't Submit
I want to let people know that we hear you," she told WND. "We want this bill repealed, too, and we're not just going to roll over and accept Obamacare. We're not going to roll over and let Nancy Pelosi have her way because it was just a handful of Democrats leadership that pushed this bill onto the backs of 300 million Americans. We don't have to accept this."
While Bachmann explained that she is not advocating civil disobedience, she said people must not give into apathy and believe the health-care bill cannot be overturned.
She was the first lawmaker down on the floor this week as she eagerly presented H.R. 4309, a one-page bill to repeal the Democrats' health "reform."
Asked whether the health-care bill really has a chance of being repealed, Bachmann replied, "It's very difficult. I won't put rose-colored glasses on. But 76 percent of the people in the United States have said that they don't want this bill."
Americans must prepare to take the fight to the polls this election, she explained, and they must vote for constitutional conservatives to make up majorities in the House and Senate.
"What we saw on Sunday evening was the results of November 2008," Bachmann said. "Pure and simple, that's what it was. We also will have our day of victory, but we have to focus on November 2010. It is all about choosing constitutional conservatives who have a winnable chance of getting elected."
She added that the American people must also strategically select a strong presidential candidate in 2012.
"We can take no substitutes for our nominee. We cannot be fooled with someone who is conservative lite," Bachmann said. "It has to be a bold, strong, constitutional conservative who we run for president, one who is strong enough to see this fight through of repealing Obamacare. We absolutely can do it."
She called repeal of Obamacare a winning issue and the No. 1 concern that conservative candidates would be wise to embrace during their campaigns this year.

A Message From The Governor
This morning, I joined President Obama following the signing of landmark healthcare reform legislation that will provide health care to 32 million more Americans.Under the President's leadership, our nation will finally begin to control the rising cost of healthcare in America, improve the ability of all Americans to take their children to a doctor, and put the American people back in control of their healthcare decisions. And finally, for every American family, insurance companies will not be able to deny anyone healthcare coverage due to a pre-existing condition. These national reforms will build on our efforts over the last three years to expand access to healthcare for 161,000 more Marylanders, including 78,500 children, and at the same time save Maryland taxpayers and small businesses the hidden costs of uncompensated care.
Because of the reforms we have already put in place in our state – things like the Maryland Health Insurance Partnership for small businesses and closing the prescription drug donut hole for our seniors – these federal reforms will save our state more than $1 billion over the next ten years.
And to make sure Maryland is doing all that it can to effectively implement these reforms, tomorrow I will be announcing the creation of new task force to make sure we maximize healthcare access and affordability for all Marylanders.
Find out more about how the federal reforms impact your family.

Police Cite Driver Error In New York Prius Incident
Police in Harrison, N.Y. on Monday said it appears that a widely reported Prius crash on March 9 was caused by pedal misapplication.
"The vehicle accelerator in this case was depressed 100 percent at the time of collision,” Capt. Anthony Marraccini, acting chief of the Harrison police department, said at a press conference yesterday afternoon. “There was absolutely no indication of any brake application.” The Associated Press reported that the department’s findings were based on information from the car's on-board event data recorder. NHTSA announced last week that its investigators had reached the same conclusion. Toyota engineers also participated in the investigation. "Toyota has been very cooperative," said Capt. Marraccini. Capt. Marraccini noted that the driver in this incident "believes she depressed the brake.” The results of the investigation, however, were “black and white,” according to the chief. She did not try to deceive police, he said, and she faces no charges. Sharing his thoughts after the investigation, Reuters News reported that the acting police chief noted, "Quite honestly, I would have no reservations about putting my own family" in a Prius. 2. Kelley Blue Book: Toyota Resale Values Expected to Rise, Customer Interest in New Vehicles Increases
Resale values of Toyota-brand vehicles are expected to rise in the months ahead, according to a new forecast from Kelley Blue Book. "Toyota may finally be turning the corner," according to James Bell, executive market analyst at Kelley Blue Book. The forecast notes that Toyota's three-year resale values are expected to rise 4.2 percentage points year-over-year. While that is below the industry average of 6.2 percentage points, it’s a reversal from February, when Kelley Blue Book lowered its outlook on used Toyota vehicles. Toyota outpaced Honda and Porsche in the forecast. In addition, other data from Kelley Blue Book shows that consideration of and interest in Toyota vehicles has increased considerably in the last week, rebounding to higher levels than before the company's recent major recall announcements. According to the Kelley Blue Book report, “the latest data shows 45 percent of in-market new-car shoppers now are considering a Toyota, up 13 percentage points from last week.” This is “17 percentage points higher than Toyota's consideration was at its lowest point in the midst of the recall crisis…in early February.” To read Kelley Blue Book’s press release on this new forecast, please click on http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/kelley-blue-book-toyota-residuals-increases-along-with-rise-in-industry-88803282.html

“Maryland political analysts said Monday that Democratic Congressman Frank Kratovil's vote against health care legislation may not help him much in a tough re-election bid in a conservative-leaning district. Kratovil was one of 34 Democrats to vote against the historic bill Sunday night. The first-term Congressman, who barely won the First District seat in 2008, cited concerns about the cost of the legislation in a statement released after the vote. Kratovil and Maryland's lone Republican Congressman Roscoe Bartlett were the only two of the state's eight U.S. House members to oppose the bill. Donald F. Norris, chairman of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County's Department of Public Policy, said he doesn't think the vote will do much to help Kratovil's political future. ‘He is probably — if not the most vulnerable Democrat in the country, he is one of the most vulnerable,’ Norris said. ‘He feels he's got to do everything he can to make himself re-electable, and I don't think a vote on health care one way or another will make that much of a difference.’” (Kathleen Miller, “Md.'s Kratovil Bucks Democrats On Healthcare,” Associated Press, 3/22/10)
One reason? Marylanders know Kratovil supports government-run healthcare, if not the specific measures passed by the House:
“[Kratovil]…is on record supporting the public option for health care—though he voted against the House version of the health care bill in the end…” (Emily Esfahani Smith, “Democrat in Danger,” Weekly Standard, 2/22/10)
“I believe that a public option may help reduce costs by increasing competition and expanding consumer choice…” (“Health care,” Kratovil congressional website, accessed 3/23/10)
Kratovil signed a far-left, Big Labor-funded group’s petition calling for “a public insurance plan.”
Another reason? The folks he represents just don’t trust him – they’ve watched him cave one too many times.
He voted against Obama’s reckless stimulus:
“Maryland Rep. Frank Kratovil was one of only 11 Democrats to vote against President Barack Obama's stimulus package. The first-term congressman issued a statement following the vote saying the country is already facing the largest budget deficit and tough choices need to be made about spending taxpayer's money. Kratovil said he was not convinced the package focused enough on the programs most likely to have a short-term economic impact.” (“Md. Democrat joins GOP in vote against stimulus,” Associated Press, 2/2/09)
Then he flip-flopped and voted for it:
“Rep. Frank Kratovil joined Maryland's six other Democratic congressman in voting in favor of the $787 billion stimulus package, which has just been approved by the House of Representatives. The freshman from the Eastern Shore was one of five Democrats who switched sides and voted for the measure after having opposed it last month, when the House first approved it.” (Paul West, “Kratovil Changes Sides, Supports Stimulus Package; Bartlett Only ‘No’ Vote,” Baltimore Sun “Maryland Politics,” 2/13/09)
Kratovil told Pelosi ‘no’ when she asked him to vote for her job-killing energy tax:
“To Democratic opponents and skeptics, Pelosi seemed to be everywhere this week, lobbying for her ‘flagship’ bill - an effort expected to culminate Friday in a vote too close for anyone to guarantee one way or the other…On the floor Thursday, she buttonholed one of the most vulnerable of those marginal members, Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-Md.), who replaced a Republican last year and is a top target of Republican campaign efforts. She spoke forcefully, waving her hands. Kratovil just kept shaking his head no.” (Mike Soraghan, “Tap on the shoulder from Pelosi,” The Hill, 6/26/09)
The next day, he gave in and voted for it:
“Some Eastern Shore farmers are unhappy with Congressman Frank Kratovil for voting for a bill that would regulate greenhouse gas emissions through a cap-and-trade system.” (“Kratovil catches flak for cap-and-trade vote,” Associated Press, 8/4/09)
A Brooke Mulford Update
Sunday, Brooke had her last GM-CSF injection (woo hoo)! Thank you Miss Liz so much for what feels like the hundreds of shots that you have given Brooke over the past year and a half (and also Kellie, Tonia, Dr. Jeff and Marcie’s friends in NJ for filling in when Liz was unable to). There is no way I could have given them to her (well I guess I could have if I had to but I’m so glad that I didn’t)!
We are heading back up to NJ tomorrow after Brooke’s dentist appt. She is scheduled at CHOP Wed morning with her Audiologist, Wendy and then has Onco clinic in the afternoon with Dr. Weiser.
Please also pray for the little boy Wayne at Brooke’s school that was just recently diagnosed with stage IV NB. He was scheduled to start his chemo today at Hopkins.
God Bless,
Amy
I really want to give a shout out to some special people that have chosen to honor Brooke by shaving their heads to raise money for pediatric cancer at various St. Baldrick events throughout the country. Some I know and some we have never met but they are all hero’s to us! If you are interested in visiting their fundraising pages, I have included the links under each name.
Sam Hayes, who is the 8 yr old son of Maureen, a good friend of mine from high school, shaved his head March 13 in Lawrenceville, NJ and has raised over $1200! His mom told me that after he got it shaved he said, “I’m going to do this every year until Brooke is all better!” The event itself even honored Brooke and her story/photo was posted throughout the event!

VICTIM: State of Maryland
Accused: Gregory Alan Brittingham, W/M , 33 YOA, Newark, MD
BRIEF RESUME: On the above date and time, the Salisbury Barrack was notified of a roll over motor vehicle collision that occurred at Mt. Herman Rd. and Civic Ave involving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. A second call was received by a citizen who advised the operator later identified ass Gregory Alan Brittingham from Newark, MD was possibly intoxicated and fleeing the scene. The citizen remained in contact with the Salisbury Barrack and followed the suspect vehicle. Officers from the Maryland State Police, Wicomico County Sheriffs Office and the Salisbury City Police Department located the vehicle at the intersection of Church St. and Naylor St., stopped at a stop sign. Officers positioned their vehicles around the suspects car to prevent him from fleeing. As Tfc. Edwards was exiting his marked patrol vehicle, the suspect accelerated from a complete stop and rammed the patrol vehicle colliding into the passenger side. The suspect then briefly fled in the vehicle before he was stopped a second time and taken into custody. The suspect was found to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of marijuana. The Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation was on scene, and after reviewing the incident which was captured on in car cameras, it was determined the suspect would be charged with attempted 2nd degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, and malicious destruction of property, in addition to the driving under the influence of alcohol, and possession of CDS. Gregory Alan Brittingham was taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center. No injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.
