GM Makes New Bondholder Offer Ahead Of Bankruptcy
The announcement was the clearest indication yet that GM, the No. 1 U.S. automaker, is close to filing for bankruptcy under the direction of the Obama administration. It would be the biggest-ever bankruptcy for a U.S. industrial company.
Under the proposed deal, which is supported by major institutional creditors holding about a fifth of its debt, bondholders representing $27 billion in debt would be offered 10 percent of a reorganized GM -- the same stake they had been offered previously.

Susan Rainey, (aka Sparkles The Clown aka Tomcat)
Can someone please fill me in on what it is with people like the Fat Man and Susan Rainey hiding behind masks and makeup? It's no wonder these two get along so well. Susan Rainey, (with her multiple personalities) can't choose who to actually be in life. One minute she portrays herself disguised as a man and the next a Clown. One thing is for sure, when I saw her in person at the Chamber Meeting, she looked better as a man. The following are some of her most recent statements I thought I'd share, since no one ever visits her Site. So if you know her personally you may now understand her obsession over me.
"I'm late on paying my real estate taxes and if I do not pay them by June 15th, 2009 my properties will be auctioned off. If I can get past that hurdle the maybe I can catch up so the bank won't forclose on me. I am now accepting donations for the Save the Clown Fund."
"I have one "follower" of my blog. If it's you please email me and let me know, otherwise I will think Joe is cyberstalking me."
"If I were paranoid I would think it was Davis Ruark or Mike Lewis."
They make pills for that Susan.
"Joe acts like he has the hots for me. Was he disappointed to find out that I wasn't the manly bruiser in a t-shirt. Amazing . . . Joe never took on The TomCat, but as soon as he found out I was a woman he pounced in for the kill."
"This blog was created to gather information about Albero's victims in order to organize enough people to file a class acion law suit against him."
"and the moon is full! It should be good folks! I encourage everyone to attend. Heart Felt Best Wish To The Mayor! Good Luck Barry!"
I feel so special to be loved by so many. ROTFLMAO! Nevertheless, can someone just create a FUND to raise money under a false identity, "Save the Clown Fund" and ask for donations? If so, all the power to you Susan. Next time, might I suggest you stop pounding all those Twinkies and use pictures of the real Mrs. Porqueena instead. This way you could afford to pay your bills. Right now you're keeping Hostess in business instead. The pictures you've provided are false advertising, to say the least. Must be one of those "One Size Fits All" costumes.
Have a Sparkly Day Susan Rainey. Can you hear those Helicopters? Oh Look, a Chicken!
Sotomayor Ruled In "D-Bag Case"
Ruled teen's blog post created a created "foreseeable risk of substantial disruption"
By YVONNE NAVA and LEANNE GENDREAU
Thu, May 28, 2009
President Barack Obama’s nominee to fill a Supreme Court vacancy has yet another tie to Connecticut. She sided against a student in the infamous “douche bag” case, and that has upset some free-speech advocates.
In August 2007, Judge Sonia Sotomayor sat on a panel that ruled against an appeal in Doninger v. Niehoff.
Avery Doninger was disqualified from running for school government at Lewis S. Mills High School in Burlington after she posted something on her blog, referring to the superintendent and other officials as "douche bags" because they canceled a battle of the bands she had helped to organize.
The case went to court and in March 2008, Sotomayor was on a panel that heard Doninger’s mother’s appeal alleging her daughter’s free speech and other rights were violated. Her mother wanted to prevent the school from barring her daughter from running.
Sotomayor joined two other judges from the 2nd Circuit in ruling that the student’s off-campus blog remarks created a “foreseeable risk of substantial disruption” at the student’s high school and that the teenager was not entitled to a preliminary injunction reversing a disciplinary action against her, Education Week reports.
In their opinion, the judges said they were “sympathetic" to her disappointment at being disqualified from running for Senior Class Secretary and acknowledged her belief that in this case, “the punishment did not fit the crime.”
However, the judges decided they were not called upon to determine if school officials acted wisely.
“As the Supreme Court cautioned years ago, “[t]he system of public education that has evolved in this Nation relies necessarily upon the discretion and judgment of school administrators and school board members,” and we are not authorized to intervene absent “violations of specific constitutional guarantees.”

Judge Ends Free Speech Argument
The ruling in this case has come under heavy criticism from some civil libertarians. Some say this case presents a solid rationale for rejecting Judge Sonia Sotomayor of New York’s Second Circuit Court of Appeals to fill the seat of retiring Justice David Souter.
“The continual expansion of the authority of school officials over student speech teaches a foul lesson to these future citizens,” Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, told the New Britain Herald. “I would prefer some obnoxious speech [rather] than teaching students that they must please government officials if they want special benefits or opportunities.”
Police Investigate Animal Abuse Case Reporting
Mary Bubala BALTIMORE (WJZ) ―
Baltimore City Police are investigating a horrific case of animal abuse: a pit bull was set on fire.
CBS
A city police officer describes it as one of the worst things she's ever seen. A pit bull was set on fire in Southwest Baltimore and no one was coming to to the dog's aid. Mary Bubala has more on this shocking crime.
They've named her Phoenix, for rising out of the ashes. She would have been euthanized immediately, but a special fund at BARCS provided immediate, expensive care to keep her alive.
The one-year-old pit bull should not be alive after someone doused her in gasoline and set her on fire Wednesday afternoon.
"There's not one part spared. I've seen it on the back, on the tail on the ears. I've never seen it on the whole body," said Dr. Bonner.
A Baltimore City officer is credited with saving her.
"It was just cruel," said Officer Syreeta Teel.
Officer Teel and her partner were on their regular patrol in West Baltimore; when they got to Presberry Street, they saw a black cloud of smoke, which was coming from a burning dog.
"She was fully in flames. There were people around, but nobody was doing anything, so I got out of the car, took off my sweater and started hitting her to put the fire out," Officer Teel said.
"You don't put dogs on fire. A dog is like a human being. They have feelings too," said a witness who asked to be identified only as Warren.
"It was just sad, because I've never heard a dog make this sound. This scream that he made, I've never heard before," Teel said.
Phoenix, as she's now called, came to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter. A nearby veterinarian treated her burns and now she's off to a rescue.
Every person who worked on her says this is the worst case they've seen but Phoenix wants to live.
"The pads of her feet and burnt off and she's standing on them, walking to people and still wagging her tail," said BARCS Executive Director Jennifer Mead-Brause.
Officers got no information from the neighborhood but some tell Eyewitness News the pit bull has been around before. The vet found puncture wounds, indicating a dog fight.
"We don't understand it. We can't imagine the kind of person who can do something like that," Mead-Brause said.
Police have not charged anyone and are asking any witnesses to give them a call with any information.
Aggravated cruelty to animals is a felony with the punishment being up to three years in prison.

Gary Comegys' New Found Respect for the Rule of Law
To date, Comegys has been one of those who disagreed with my stance that rules are to be followed. When his mistress, the Queen of Barrieland, was in power Comegys argued time and again that Salisbury's form of government dictated that the mayor was to be given the widest latitude (if not absolute power). If the recent mayoral election had swung Comegys' way I am confident that he would still be arguing his bizarre interpretation of the city's charter.
However, just because the guy I supported is in power does not negate the fact that the city's budget belongs to council until approved. Any amendments must emanate from, if not originate in, the city council. Yes, Ireton was correct regarding the city's health insurance plan and the inclusion of city council members. However, any amendment still needed to be adopted by council prior to its inclusion in the final budget ordinance.
While councilwoman Terry Cohen made a persuasive argument that Ireton's actions were correct, she was wrong. Simply because there is a precedent for the mayor acting unilaterally does not make it legal or right. If a majority of council were truly interested in being a relevant body they would simply require all but emergency legislation to come before at least one work session prior to consideration in a legislative session. Cohen would probably agree with this. However, the Comegys-led majority simply could not entertain such a notion. If they adopted this under a Mayor Ireton they would be hard pressed to go back to the old ways if Ireton failed to win re-election.
Perhaps Comegys can learn a lesson from this. You reap what you sow.
John Robinson Makes The News AGAIN Today!
Finally legal after almost a year, John Robinson finally got tags on the vehicle that had been sitting in their parking lot for almost a year illegally.
HOWEVER, Do YOU know what FUJA stands for, just above the tag. That's right, on his business truck he's clearly advertising F-You Joe Albero. NOW THAT CRACKS ME UP!
You want to make stupid moves like this John Robinson and get all over the news, you got it. Just Google the John Robinson name in a day or two or wait a minute, let's not forget to mention Robinson's Jewelry & Clock Store so Google picks that up too, you'll get exactly what you deserve.
I'll bet more people see this than your stupid little advertisement just over your tag. That being said, (Bronx accent included) FUJR! Know that I'm sitting here cracking up over this. The power of the Blogs.

Three Years Ago Today: HOT DOGS IN THE PARK
Ladies & Gentlemen, tomorrow is a very special day in Princess Anne. During the summer months, the Princess Anne Police Department starts out early in the morning, (around 8:00 AM) and starts preparing food for their monthly Hot Dogs In The Park for the entire community.
Chief Keller starts cooking his cooked beans and I have to tell you, they're to die for! The average cost to the Town is around $600.00 and it's held the last Friday of every month. Tomorrow will kick off the season once again and I hope ALL of the residents of Princess Anne find the time to come out and enjoy some fantastic fellowship.
I have yet to meet a single person with a "tude" in Princess Anne and I actually enjoy taking the trip out there every so often to capture the smiles on every one's face and listen in to some of the interesting conversations they have about the way of life down there.
I'm telling you, if I ever move back to Maryland, Princess Anne is the place I'll move to. It's a beautiful Town with beautiful people.
Chief, I hope this Post reaches many in your community so you're forced to make double the recipe on those baked beans. You should can that recipe and sell it here on the Eastern Shore. I'd be the first one to buy it!
Click It Or Ticket
17 Police Agencies came to Perdue Stadium yesterday for the Click It or Ticket Campaign. Sheriff Mike Lewis threw out the First Pitch, (like a girl) and then proceeded upstairs to the Club House where quite a few Police Officers got together and discussed their support towards this campaign.
Sheriff Lewis had made 7 traffic stops issuing tickets to each one of them for seat belt violations before he arrived to the Stadium. Both Sheriff Lewis and Chief Bernadette DiPino were guest speakers for the event. There were Cops from everywhere on the Eastern Shore.
We have seen comments against the seat belt law and quite frankly you have to be stupid not to wear your seat belt any more. Not only is it the law, it truly saves lives. All too many people believe an air bag will save them and that's just not true.
We have provided numerous stories, (especially recently) where people were ejected from their vehicles and died. Think about that for a minute. If you do follow these stories lately, it's a fact. Besides that, vehicles are now designed around a seat belt and air bags. They are built in three sections and the front and rear of each and every vehicle is designed to take the most impact. The cage and key area of the center of each vehicle is designed to save your life WITH A SEAT BELT secured.
To think you'll survive without one is just stupid. Clearly you do NOT value your spouse or children if you refuse to wear one. Face it, it's the truth. Wear your seat belts, obey the law and enjoy the rest of your life.
Report: Increasing Number Of Educators Found To Be Suffering From Teaching Disabilities
The study, which surveyed 2,500 elementary and high school level instructors across the country, found that nearly one out of every five exhibited behaviors typically associated with a teaching impairment. Among them: trouble paying attention in school, lack of interest or motivation during class, and severe emotional issues.
"For teaching-disabled and at-risk educators, just coming to school every day is a challenge," said Dr. Robert Hughes, a behavioral psychologist and lead author of the study. "Even simple tasks, like remaining alert and engaged during lessons, can be a struggle. Unfortunately, unless we take immediate action, these under-performers will only continue to fall further behind."
"Our teachers are in trouble," Hughes continued. "Some can't even teach at a basic sixth-grade level."
As noted in the report, hundreds of schools have already begun setting up special classrooms in which the teaching- disabled can receive the extra attention they require, teach at their own unique pace, and be paired up with patient students who can help to keep them on track.
According to school administrators, new programs like these encourage marginalized and disenfranchised teachers by rewarding them for showing up to school prepared and taking an active part in classroom discussions. Many also have counselors on hand to intervene when an instructor grows frustrated or throws a tantrum and storms out of the room.
In the new "Teachers First!" program at Wesley Academy in Chicago, educators who were once labeled "lost causes" and left to flounder in the system for years on end are now diagnosed with specific teaching disorders, given extra time to grade difficult assignments, and, in the case of particularly troubled teachers, moved back a grade.

CRABBY OLD MAN
Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, they found this poem.
Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.
One nurse took her copy to Missouri The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas Edition of the New s Magazine of the St. Louis Association for Mental Health..
A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.
And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet.
What do you see nurses?....What do you see?
What are you thinking.....when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man, ....not very wise,
Uncertain of habit ........with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food........and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice......'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice ....the things that you do..
And forever is losing ....A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not........lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding ....The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? .....Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse.......you're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am .As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding......as I eat at your will
I'm a small child of Ten.........with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen.....with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now.....a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty....my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows.......that I promised to keep.
At Twenty-Five, now ....I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide ....And a secure happy home..
A man of Thirty ....My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other ........With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons....have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me........to see I don't mourn..
At Fifty, once more, ....Babies play ' round my knee,
Again, we know children ........My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me .....My wife is now dead.
I look at the future .......I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing......young of their own.
And I think of the years........ And the love that I've known.
I'm now an old man..........and nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age.....look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles......grace and v igor, depart.
There is now a stone.........where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass ..A young guy still dwells,
And now and again ........my battered heart swells
I remember the joys......I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living.....life over again.
I think of the years all too few......gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact.....that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people .......open and see..
Not a crabby old man. Look closer....see....ME!!
Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within......we will all, one day, be there, too!
A Special Letter From Bailey, Brooke's "Water" Dog
Dear Brookie:
I am so sad that you had to leave me after we were having such a great week together, but I understand. It sounds like your counts are slowly rising and that is a good thing. I can’t wait to see you again. Until then, don’t worry about me. I am having a wonderful visit! Like just this morning, Miss Liz let me out for get some fresh air and boy did I have fun. When I ran up to the door to be let in, well, you should have seen the look on Miss Liz’s face. I was sopping wet! Dripping wet! Miss Liz forgot that they sprinkler system was turned on for Wednesday, and boy oh boy, do I LOVE water. She took me right to the garage for the rubdown. I just love playing with the towels and biting them while I get dried off. It is so much fun! I LOVE this game. Boy, oh, boy, do I hope that sprinkler system turns on tomorrow morning.
Then this afternoon, when Miss Liz got home from golfing and let me out to play while she got her clubs out of the car I worked on another project. I was so excited to show her my newest project in the backyard! It is a huge hole and if you walk up to it and look way down into it and say “Ni Hao” someone will say “Ni Hao” back to you. In case you are wondering “Ni Hao” is hello in Chinese. Yes, that is how deep the hole is. This afternoon, the landscapers came over to work on beds. I tried to help but I think I mostly scared them. But tomorrow is going to be really fun, as the mulch arrives. I can hardly wait! Mulch: It’s What’s for Dinner!
Well, I would write so much more, but Miss Liz is worried about me getting repetitive paw syndrome so I am going to sign off. I just want to tell you again how much I miss you. Be a good little girl Brooke, do what the doctors ask so that you can get better and come home to me: Bailey, the hot diggity dog (with the emphasis on the diggity part!). You are being so brave, you are my hero.

A Letter To The Editor
I was watching PAC14 Wednesday night and saw Louise Smith with her own show. Have you ever considered doing your own show on PAC14?
Last week we produced two LIVE broadcasts right here on Salisbury News. We have considered doing our own show and are interested in confronting PAC 14 to see what it might take to put something together.
I personally believe there's enough interest for the "other side" of what's going on in Wicomico County and Salisbury and I believe I could interview some very interesting people with a line of questions that would finally interest everyone.
No agenda, no special interests, no pre set questions designed to get the answers local politicians want you to hear answers to. In other words, no BS like Barrie Tilghman and Louise Smith.
That being said, here's your chance Folks. Would YOU like me to confront PAC 14 and ask them if we can do a weekly 1/2 hour show? Here's an even bigger question. If so, do you think I'm the person who should be doing it? If not, who would you suggest.
Great Letter To Editor in Delmarva Now
Clinton kept us safe eight years --with no torture
It's amazing. The Bush administration is finally telling the truth after eight years of lies, admitting it tortured and murdered prisoners -- and we are doing nothing about it. As a military veteran, I am disgusted, appalled and incensed that my government did this in my name.
Rove and Cheney are now trying to glorify torture as the method that kept America safe. What people need to remember is that the Clinton administration kept us safe for eight years after the World Trade Center bombing in 1993, yet Bush and Cheney allowed us to be attacked by their complete and utter incompetence and lack of anything resembling organized government during their first year in office.
The list of terrorist attacks that were discovered and thwarted by the Clinton administration is substantially larger than the list of supposed attacks stopped by Bush -- and no torture was involved. Just good old accurate intelligence.
If we don't investigate and prosecute those who break the law, it will happen again and again. The Republicans were on TV every chance they had when Clinton was president, saying, "Nobody is above the law."
Funny, I have not heard one of them utter those same words about Bush or Cheney.

CELINE & ELVIS
For those of you that didn't see the show, Celine Dion appeared to walk out and stand next to Elvis as the two sang a duet of the classic "If I can Dream." It was like he was raised from the dead. Everyone has been asking how it was done. ET said tonight it was a hologram. Totally amazing what they can do now.
Estimated cost of this was said to have cost $50,000 to $100,000 and it is said it took months and months to create. Prior to the performance, Celine practiced with an Elvis impersonator However it was done, it was totally amazing. She sounded great singing with Elvis. The duet was fantastic.
Celine Dion in front of a LIVE studio audience. This is absolutely unbelievable how they have done this. It really - really does look for all the world that Elvis is actually standing there live on stage singing along side Celine Dion in front of the live American Idol audience. Watch and listen to the audience going berserk, as they themselves think they are actually seeing Elvis right there in front of them.
A truly amazing use of modern day technology brings Elvis Presley back to life in front of your own eyes.

Last Thursday Night Around Midnight, A Woman From Houston, Texas Was Arrested, Jailed, And Charged With Manslaughter For Shooting A Man 6 Times In The Back As He Was Running Away With Her Purse..
The Following Monday Morning, The Woman Was Called In Front Of The Arraignment Judge, Sworn In, And Asked To Explain Her Actions. The Woman Replied, "I Was Standing At The Corner Bus Stop For About 15 Minutes, Waiting For The Bus To Take Me Home After Work. I Am A Waitress At A Local Cafe... I Was There Alone, So I Had My Right Hand On My Pistol, That Was In My Purse, That Was Hung Over My Left Shoulder. All Of A Sudden I Was Being Spun Around Hard To My Left. As I Caught My Balance, I Saw A Man Running Away From Me With My Purse. Looked Down At My Right Hand And I Saw That My Fingers Were Wrapped Tightly Around My Pistol. The Next Thing I KNOW IS THAT I'M Saying Out Loud, "No Way Punk! Your Not Stealing My Pay Check And Tips." I Raised My Right Hand, Pointed My Pistol At The Man Running Away From Me With My Purse, And Squeezed The Trigger Of My Pistol 6 Times! When Asked By The Arraignment Judge, "Why Did You Shoot The Man 6 Times? The Woman Replied Under Oath, "Because, When I Pulled The Trigger My Pistol The 7th Time, It Only Went Click.." The Woman Was Acquitted Of All Charges. And She Was Back At Work, At The Cafe, The Next Day!
If Only We Had A Cliff Or Two Around Here
Roh, a self-taught lawyer who never attended college and didn't have the elite background typical of Seoul politicians, had prided himself on being a "clean" leader immune to South Korea's traditional web of corruption.
Allegations that Roh, president from 2003-08, accepted $6 million in bribes from a businessman while in office weighed heavily on the ex-leader, who appeared emotionally wrought last month as he prepared to face prosecutors.
Roh hurled himself off a 100 foot (30 meter) high cliff early Saturday while hiking, trailed by a security guard, near his home in Bongha, police in the nearby southern port city of Busan said. Life had become unbearable and "too many people are suffering because of me," Roh wrote in a note found on his computer, police said. More from AP here.
OPEN THREAD
Let me start with this one. Has everyone noticed just how peaceful it's been in Salisbury ever since the former Mayor Barrie Tilghman is gone? Are you as concerned as I am about what she's left behind. A failing WWTP, an empty Fire House, the old Mall still sitting and doing nothing, special raises for some and nothing for the hardest working employees???????
GOD PARTING THE SKY
Cara Winship sent this out, it is called: 'God's hands'.
I took this picture on Hwy 30, traveling to London , KY. It has given me strength in the times of trouble. I feel I should share it with the rest of the world. I hope it is an inspiration to you. It just goes to show what we already know.....We have a God and he's watching over us.
I e-mailed this picture to News Channel 36. I was contacted by Meteorologist John James. He said that this picture of the sky is showing up, in all states, around the world. He wanted to know where I was from and where I took it. He saw a similar picture taken in Texas . He said this is amazing to him..
Would you look at this picture? It reminds me of that song 'He's got the whole word in his hands'. He is definitely in control.
Creative Thinking
They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With their rich maroon gowns flowing .. and the traditional caps, they looked almost .. as grown up as they felt.
Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.
This class would NOT pray during the commencements----not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.
The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.
The speeches were nice, but they were routine.....until the final speech received a standing ovation.
A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.
All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!
The student on stage.. simply looked at the audience and said,
'GOD BLESS YOU, each and every one of you!' And he walked off stage...
The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the court's approval.
Isn't this a wonderful story? Pass it on to all your friends.........and
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!
This is a true story; it happened at the University of Maryland.
Army Post Shuts For 3 Days Over Suicides
(CNN) -- A major United States military post is shutting down for three days following a rash of suicides, the post announced.
Fort Campbell, Ky., home of the Army's 101st Airborne Division, started a three-day "suicide stand-down training event" Wednesday -- the second one it has held this year, a post spokeswoman told CNN.
At least 11 deaths of Fort Campbell soldiers this year are confirmed or suspected suicides, spokeswoman Kelly Tyler said. That's out of 64 confirmed or suspected suicides in the entire Army, according to official statistics. At that rate, the Army is on pace for a record number of suicides this year.
The post commander, Brig. Gen. Stephen Townsend, addressed all 19,000 soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division on Wednesday, Tyler said.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO RECOVERY OF DRUGS, CASH, WEAPONS
(Havre de Grace, MD) – A traffic stop by a Maryland state trooper on I-95 early this morning led to the recovery of suspected cocaine, cash and weapons and the arrest of an Anne Arundel County man on felony drug charges.
The accused is identified as Michael J. Jackson, 28, of the unit-block of College Creek Terrace, Annapolis, Md. He is charged with importing cocaine into the state, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of cocaine. Additional charges are pending. Jackson is currently being held in the Harford County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
At about 1:00 a.m. today, a Maryland state trooper assigned to the JFK Highway Barracks stopped a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria with Maryland tags for traffic violations on southbound I-95 in Harford County. A scan of the vehicle by a State Police K-9 unit alerted troopers to the presence of drugs in the car.
Troopers conducted a probable cause search of the car and found five ounces of cocaine, with a street value of $5,000. Troopers also found more than $14,500 in cash hidden inside the car. The driver, identified as Jackson, was placed under arrest.
Members of the Maryland State Police Drug Enforcement Division were notified of the arrest and initiated a follow up investigation that led to the issuance of two search and seizure warrants. Later this morning, state troopers, along with officers from the Annapolis Police Department and the Metro Area Drug Task Force, comprised of Maryland State Police, University of Maryland Police, and Greenbelt Police, served the warrants on Jackson’s home and another residence on Belle Court in Annapolis.
In Jackson’s home, police found three shotguns, four rifles, two handguns, and various drug packaging materials used for individual drug sales. They also found an additional $20,000 in cash. The search warrant served on Belle Court did not result in the recovery of additional contraband.
The investigation is continuing.

Letter From A Dodge Dealership
My name is George C. Joseph. I am the sole owner of Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu, a family owned and operated business in Melbourne, Florida. My family bought and paid for this automobile franchise 35 years ago in 1974. I am the second generation to manage this business.
We currently employ 50+ people and before the economic slowdown we employed over 70 local people. We are active in the community and the local chamber of commerce. We deal with several dozen local vendors on a day to day basis and many more during a month. All depend on our business for part of their livelihood. We are financially strong with great respect in the market place and community. We have strong local presence and stability.
I work every day the store is open, nine to ten hours a day. I know most of our customers and all our employees. Sunshine Dodge is my life.
On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009. Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as "new," nor will we be able to do any warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service. There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory.
Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler's insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.
HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN?
THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY
This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong.
This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families? This is a total economic disaster.
HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN IN A FREE MARKET ECONOMY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?
I beseech your help, and look forward to your reply. Thank you.
Sincerely,
George C. Joseph

Finally, Logical Medical Advice
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it...don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.
Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.
Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also
made out of grain. Bottoms up!
Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.
Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!
Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! .....Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?
Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.
Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans ! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!
Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.
Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape! Well,I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.
AND.....For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies:
1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
