Paula Chapman Allegedly Removed From Pittsville Fire Department

"JOE JOE JOE JOE!

People think this guy was right? That's AMAZING! The funny thing is, Richard Chapman knew he was wrong, the Pittsville Fire Department knows he was/is wrong, and the public knows he is wrong.

Richard Chapman was an imposter, posing as a paramedic. He wasn't an EMT, CRT, or Paramedic. Granted he was at one time, but his license expired. He continued to practice and that is wrong. We all now that.

Richard's wife Paula aided him and his stupid act. Paula was an EMS Officer with the Pittsville Fire Department. I think the Pittsville Fire Department is finally admitting they were wrong. Paula Chapman was just removed from office. Part of her job was to make sure the providers were up to date, needless to say that didn't happen.

Salisbury News has done a lot of good for the citizens of eastern Wicomico.

Thank you Pittsville Fire Department."

Local Assisted Living Nightmares

Have you or a loved one been asked to leave an Assisted Living facility because of a perceived “increased” medical complexity that does NOT exceed the level of care the facility is licensed to provide by The State of Maryland?

When you signed your contract, was it ever made clear to you that, regardless of what you thought of the care being given at the facility or if you had any concerns to express, the facility had the right to terminate your residency with as little as five days notice?

If this has happened to you, were you told to vacate immediately? Or even worse, were you sent to the hospital and not allowed to return? Was the explanation given that it was because you had expressed your concerns and the management decided their facility had lost “the essential trust and comfort level that a resident and his/her family have in the delivery system of care serving the resident”?

Do you feel that your loved one was punished because you exercised your right to be their advocate and to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves?

If you have had a similar experience, please post your comments.

Delegate Mathias Is Out of Touch

Our recently elected newcomer Maryland Delegate Mathias may not realize but Maryland's Medivac helicopter system was subject to controversy right from the very get go.

You see I'm not against a Medivac helicopter system, I'm just against our State running it. From the very outset the entire Helicopter medivac concept was suppose to have been researched and studied, prior to, implementation, INCLUDING PRIVATIZATION. The problem is that then -(1986)- Maryland State Police director, Colonel Mazone, wouldn't answer questions related to certain operational cost of the program despite even having been served a Freedom of Information request. And then there was a 1986 Senate Bill, SB 970, that was to permanently increase the gas tax by 2 cents rather than temporarily increasing the vehicle registration fee.

And what do you think was suppose to happen to the old fleet of Bell Ranger helicopters before the purchase of their new fleet? They were suppose to be phased-out but like everything else in our great State the Bell Rangers were turned over to the Department of Natural Resources and instead of Maryland having one fleet of helicopters we were burdened with TWO HELICOPTER FLEETS. And not to mention the Maryland Air National Guard Division's fleet.

And then comes the illustrious financial legislation that was latter tacked onto the backs of Maryland Motorist whereby they have now been assessed a Maryland Medivac fee on every registration renewal. In case you haven't noticed our tag registration has gone through the roof partly because of the Medivac system itself.

Remember what you read here folks as the Maryland legislature embarks on yet another breathtaking round of additional taxes that are about to hit you squarely in your BUTTOX.

And how did I know about all of this. . . because I was there . . .yes in 1986.

I might just decide to run against Mathias the next go around as I watch him and others spend and squander our hard earned tax dollars.

Wicomico Humane Society Saves Chihuahua's Life

As many of you know, last weeks temperatures were quite cold outside, certainly too cold to leave a small dog outside like a Chihuahua. On Friday, one of the Staff was outside in front of the building when they noticed a crate sitting right smack dab in the middle of the road in front of the Humane Society.

They went out to the crate and inside was a very this, very shaky and very messy Chihuahua covered in urine and fecal matter. They immediately took it inside and went to work on it doing everything they could to save the life of this animal. Fortunately, after lots of cleaning and a warm place to rest this dog is coming around and it looks like it will make it after all.

Now I'm sure the thoughts are running through your mind, it could have been hit by a car. It could have died out there, why didn't they just take it in. How long was it out there. Who would do such a thing.

I asked those questions and just when you think some sick individual was capable of doing such a thing, Linda Lugo said to me, you know Joe, someone could have stolen the animal because they saw it outside some one's home in the cold and obviously not being taken care of. They may have dropped it off out there figuring someone would come along soon enough and take it in. If someone had stolen the animal and brought it in, they could be up on charges.

I hadn't thought of that but it could very well be true. Linda went on to tell me how thin this dog was and she'd love to meet the original owners face to face and challenge them as to why they were incapable of taking good care of such a small animal.

Well Linda, I'd like to meet these owners face to face too but I can assure you, I wouldn't be so kind. I guess that's why you're in that position and I'm on this Blog. Anyhow Folks, there could be a very nice Chihuahua available for adoption in the near future.

Linda also wanted everyone to know that this animal has been isolated in a very warm and quiet area of the H.S. with the intent of keeping it as calm as possible for the next few days. She went on to say, "By the grace of God she was given to us."

OK Worcester & Wicomico County BOE, Let's Get Real!

Obviously the Obama Inauguration topic is a hot one, especially when it comes to strong arming children and telling them to dress up in red, white and blue and or wear your Sunday's Best. Some of the wet pants liberals think, awe, isn't that sweet, we should respect the President of the United States. IMHO, no, it's more like, brain wash these kids when they're young and very impressionable.

Nevertheless, we ALL have our views on this issue. However, here's what I want EVERYONE to look at that day. Will we see EVERY adult standing there in their Sunday's Best? Will we instead see everyone wearing red, white and blue?

The minute I see ONE adult not dressed properly, according to the new BOE Presidential Bi Racial Standards I'm not going to be a happy camper and neither should you. Like other commenters have stated, when you become an adult in the real world you must wear what your Boss tells you to wear. Sounds like Teachers are the Boss of Children, eh? I can pictures the kid on South Park standing there saying, RESPECT MY AUTHORITY! Nevertheless, let's see who's for real and who's full of it the moment you turn that television on because I say this is loaded with a majority of DEMOCRATIC Teachers taking advantage of their environment with very impressionable minds.

WBI Press Release

Throughout the last few months the surrounding counties have been experiencing an increase in burglaries and thefts of Dirt Bike & ATVs.

We are asking anyone with any information or anyone who observes any suspicious activity with Dirt Bikes & ATV’s to please report it. Call your local law enforcement or you can call Crime Solvers and remain anonymous. Please secure your dirt bike & ATV with a heavy chain to something large that can not be moved. The suspects are coming into yards, garages, stealing items that are right next to houses, with & without people home.

This is also a reminder to please take pictures of your valuables and record the make model and serial or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Law Enforcement can not enter anything stolen into the national computer without a serial or VIN. We recover items and know they are stolen but have no way to find the owner or jurisdiction that that item was stolen from. This gives law enforcement another tool in stopping criminal behavior.

This is a great time to take pictures of all those new Christmas gifts. Take pictures of Jewelry, Cameras, Guns, TV, Cell phones, DVD Player, Cars, Kids Bikes anything of value that can be easily stolen. You can always take a picture of the model & serial or VIN along with the initial picture. It also helps tremendously if you apply a personal number or mark that is specific to you (not your social security #, drivers license or phone number is the easiest for law enforcement to access 24/7), engrave it in an obvious location. Save these pictures onto a CD or something that you can save incase your computer crashes.

This only takes a few minutes to do but can save you and law enforcement a lot of time and money and help us get the criminals responsible for theft. It is also needed for some insurance claims. Also, outdoor motion lights and lights inside on timers are great deterrents.

Please contact Detective C.R. Taylor at the Wicomico Bureau of Investigations with any information, all the vehicles are reported stolen with Wicomico S.O. & MSP Wicomico.

Anyone with information on the above or ANY crime is asked to call the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation at 410-548-4898 or if you wish to remain anonymous and would like a reward for the information that leads to an arrest, call Crimes Solvers at 410-548-1776.

These are pictures are some of the stolen bikes & atvs:

2007 Yamaha TTR-125; this one is a kid’s dirt bike, helmets stolen also.

2007 Suzuki LT-Z400; this one had a gun rack on the front.

Warning To All Dog Owners

"On June 22, 2008 , my 10-year old lab mix, Chai, sustained a severe injury from a product that the company Four Paws, Inc., produces. The toy I'm referencing is the pimple ball with bell (Item #20227-001, UPC Code #04566320227 9).

While chewing on the toy, a vacuum was created and it effectively sucked his tongue into the hole in the ball. From speaking with my vet , this likely occurred because there is not a second hole in the ball preventing the vacuum effect from happening. I became aware of this when Chai approached a friend at my home whimpering with the ball in his mouth. She tried unsuccessfully to remove the ball but the tongue had swollen and could not be released.

Chai was taken to the Animal Medical Center (an emergency care facility in New York City ) and was treated by Dr. Nicole Spurlock to have the ball removed. Because the size of the opening on the ball was so small, all circulation to his tongue was cut off. The doctors had to sedate him in order to remove it. Once the ball was removed, his tongue swelled to the point that he could no longer put it in his mouth. Chai was sent home with care instructions and to be observed over night for any changes. By the following morning, Chai's tongue had swollen even more.

He was taken to his regular Vet, Dr. Timnah Lee, for treatment. He was admitted and kept sedated for a period of three days during which time they were treating his wounds and waiting to determine how much of his tongue could be saved. On June 26, 2008, Chai had his tongue amputated.

He was kept in after-care for an additional three days. On Sunday, June 29th, I brought Chai home from the Vet with a barrage of home care instructions, to last for an additional 7 days. His next visit was to have his mouth re-examined and have the feeding tube in his neck removed.

On the way home from the vet we stopped at Pet land Discount where I purchased their product to speak to the manager on duty. Upon me et ing Chai and seeing his condition, he removed all of the balls in question from the shelves. He also Ga ve me the customer service number to their corporate headquarters to request that they refuse to continue purchasing all Four Paws products, but I have not called them as of yet .

Additionally, I shared my story with friends who have a French Bulldog named Petunia. Upon hearing my story, their eyes widened. They explained that the same thing happened twice in one night with a smaller version of the same ball to their dog. Fortunately, they were able to pull it off before the tongue swelled, but not without tremendous effort and pain to the dog. They recalled how horrific it was to hear their dog screaming while they had to pry the ball from her tongue.

To date, my veterinary bills total over $5,000 and I will have regular follow up appointments for some time. Additionally, Chai now requires a much more expensive form of food because of this injury, averaging approximately $200 per month.

Additionally, I now have to re-teach my dog to eat, drink and adjust to life without his tongue. Feeding him takes me about 90 minutes twice a day and for at least this first week he is not to be unattended for more than 20 minutes at a time.

I sent this information along with the reference to the French Bulldog to Four Paws, Inc., and it is their position that there just aren't enough instances to do anything about this. I told their insurance company's case manager that was not a good enough excuse. It was inferred that my dogs value wasn't much and that his pain and suffering don't count as he is just a piece of property."
