I received a message today from an associate whereas they expressed how The Daily Times has been ringing their telephone off the hook trying to get information the Daily Times read right here on Salisbury News. By the way, they're not going to return the call and they're not giving in to what used to be a powerhouse for news but are no longer.
I'd like to thank the Daily Times for being so active on this Blog and the honor it is that they have to rely on this Site first to gain access to up to the minute news and information. The only place I don't get it right away is from the Mayor, the Zoo and the Salisbury Police Department.
Ladies & Gentlemen, just look at this past week's worth of information here. Some has made it to the Daily Times, as you know they're very selective on what they will or won't write about. I'm still disappointed that they haven't gotten involved in the Landfill water pollution story but give it time, they'll be on it once we've proven there is a problem. I'm also disappointed they haven't mentioned Paula Morris and the Top 100 Women, but we all know they're jerks, (I'm being nice) over there and unless they're supported by Barrie Tilghman, they don't produce it.
All that being said, how long do you think that paper is going to last with this kind of competition? Funny part is, the Daily Times can't buy me, period! I don't need more money, so the funny part is, I'm one man that's going to bring down an Administration AND a Gannett Publications Newspaper.
The stupid move they made was dumping $6.5 million in a used Press and changing the entire paper. I sat back, moved forward very slowly, (like a smart Italian) and now that they're at their weakest point, I'm coming after them like a bat out of hell. Oh, they'll be making offers, you wait and see. However, I'm NOT interested and once we start selling advertising, they're toast!
Long Live The Blogs! GO HERE to see their latest Stock Reports. They're folding!

118 Comments Today & Growing
Although Sunday's aren't anywhere near the biggest day of the week, the comments are rolling in like there's no tomorrow and obviously there are a few people out there excited about my getting a bad meal at Brew River. I found out this afternoon that one other person I was with also got hit with whatever they were serving today as well.
I had some fun going over to Story Chat reading some of the comments on the Recall Drive. Let me make something perfectly clear here. I had absolutely NOTHING to do with Jordan doing this Recall. As a matter of fact. I met Jordan for the very first time face to face at 300 W. Main Street last weekend.
I did hear from him several months ago and quite frankly, I discouraged him from doing the Recall. When he contacted me a few weeks ago to tell me he had decided to go forward with it, I was just as surprised as anyone else.
I think you all know me by now, if I had anything to do with it I'd say it flat out and shove it right in the Mayor's face. This is all Jordan and obviously he's ticked off at this Administration and who can blame him?
So to those of you thinking I had something to do with it, YOU'RE WRONG! I hope they do in fact recall the maniac and how about that BS from Louise Smith today in the paper? Here's my question to all of you. Do all of you actually believe the entire Council should be united and all agree all the time? Louise Smith is so full of sh!t it isn't funny!
Any good business person would know right off the top, you do NOT want everyone agreeing and here's a perfect example of what happens when everyone does agree. Wicomico County Public Works! Need I say more?
If you didn't have the Debbie Campbell's and Terry Cohen's in local politics, YOU would be screwed all the time and no one would know who was doing the screwing! I am a successful businessman, like it or not. I know what works and doesn't work. NO, I'm not perfect but I am proven and experienced. Like what I say or not, I'm right and Gary, Louise, Shanie and Barrie Tilghman are the sorriest excuse of business people I have ever seen.
We're making their lives difficult because we're exposing the wrongs and this is something ALL of them have never had to be accountable like this before. So hate me all you want, I'm doing the right thing and as the comments, e-mail messages and phone calls come in, I'm even more confident I'm on the right track and it's what the majority of people want to see.
Oh, I'll close with this. Why the hell didn't the Daily Times do a FAIR article on Jordan and the Recall Drive today. Wouldn't you agree that they should have given out his CONTACT information so those who PAY for that damn paper could easily reach him? They should change their name to the Daily Yellow Journalism. Oh, I forgot, this is Salisbury, America where freedom of speech is unacceptable and the Constitution belongs on the West side of the Bay Bridge, not here.

Iraq Costs US $12 Billion Dollars Per Month
The money we're dumping into the Iraq war is steadily rising, new analyses show. In 2008, after six years, the war will cost approximately $12 billion a month, triple the rate of its earliest years. Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph E. Stiglitz and co-author Linda J. Bilmes recently reported this information in a new book.
They claim it will cost the U.S. budget between $1.7 trillion and $2.7 trillion - or more - by 2017.
We have homeless, people with no health insurance, people losing their homes like there's no tomorrow, yet we're supposed to sit back and support this crap any further?
I support our Troops, that's a given but I no longer support this alleged War.

Will Pete Richardson Be Eating His Own Words?
Today in the Letter to the Editor Section of the Daily Rag, Mr. Pete Richardson wrote a brief message about Rai Sharma and his 30 years of service to Wicomico County.
As I know Pete Richardson, he is an outspoken resident of Wicomico County and owner of Richardson Auction Company, (or something like that). Pete has always been known for speaking his mind and believes whenever he speaks, everyone should listen. It's an Eastern Shore thing.
Many might say the same about me but at least many can come back on this Blog and say their peace, believe me or not or like me or not. In Pete's message, I have to wonder if Pete didn't speak a bit too early?
The reason I say this is, I have heard that Rai, (a man I truly respected) could allegedly be involved in what has happened within Public Works. The good part for Rai so far is, he hasn't been charged with anything. I too would like to believe Rai had nothing to do with everything that has been exposed but I'm told by reliable sources that may not be the case?
Many comments have been posted here stating, how can he have been the head of all those departments and not have some involvement? There's no question that after what has already been exposed, Rai was NOT doing a very good job, period. That just can't be denied. This is also one reason why I can't appreciate Pete's letter today.
Common sense says, all that has gone wrong, it's hard to believe millions of dollars went unaccounted for and until it has been proven Rai had nothing to do with it. If I were in Pete's shoes, I would have stayed away from such a message until everything had been fully exposed and everyone had been charged.
Many years ago, many of you may recall the Pastor in Bowie that swore he had nothing to do with the bombings at the Abortion Clinics, remember that? I lived in Bowie at the time and I knew MANY people that went to that Church. Several people actually put out a second mortgage on their homes to help pay for lawyers to defend the guy. Turns out he was guilty as sin and a Pastor had lied to everyone. Be careful who you back and trust Pete.

The Salisbury Zoo Still Has No Real Senior Management
"The staff and volunteers of the Salisbury Zoo give their best wishes to Jim and Carrie as well as veterinary technician, Steve Sarrow, who is now at the Pittsburgh Aviary. Their hard work and dedication is appreciated and they will be greatly missed."
Dear Mr. Allessii, (LOL)
It's Steve Sarro, not Sarrow. You know, the guy that used to work there but you can't even spell his name correctly and it has been up there for months now with no correction, IDIOT!
I personally hope Jim Rapp and Carrie Samis end up where they belong. Broke, jobless and out of the animal industry. The Animals AND the Staff are FAR better off without these two in the Salisbury Zoo.
How sad is it that the Zoo has to put their previous employees on the site as a good thing that they have moved on to better things and that is all they have to talk about. So they have now effectively told everyone who comes to the site that there is no real senior management. Good job guys.

An Alleged Brew River Owner/Employee Responds
"Im glad you wont be coming back. When I saw you there we starting talking, look at the shit-stirer, asshole there! Hell we might have even spit in your meal..lol..
DONT COME BACK!"
DONT COME BACK!"
RUMORS, RUMORS, RUMORS!
It is rumored that Ocean City's Mayor Rick Mehan is trying to hold a Council Meeting in Western Maryland in order to get away from the Citizens and PRESS.
IMO, this is outrageous! I firmly do not believe the Taxpaying Citizens would tolerate such a maneuver and this should be stopped immediately. ALL Worcester/Ocean City Residents should contact their Mayor & City Council and demand this come to an immediate halt.
Why Pocomoke Tattler Is Rated #1 Political Blog In State of Maryland - THANKS EVERYONE
The Pocomoke Tattler has been named as the number one rated political blog site in the State of Maryland by Blognet News today.
This rating is up from number 5 last week and is a result of increasing readership of the commentary posted on the website.
The Pocomoke Tattler provides a forum for the citizens to comment and report on crimes and our long-standing tradition of political corruption at City Hall.
Pocomoke City holds the dubious distinction of being run by one man, City Manager Russ Blake, who reports to no one and has had absolute power for 32-years.
Pocomoke City has experienced two murders in the past month, shootings, car-jackings and is host to an open air drug market on Fourth Street where 'politically protected' drug dealers play their wares around the clock without fear of the local police.
Ground zero for Pocomoke's open air drug marketplace is a property owned by X-Councilman Honiss Cane who is illegally and immorally retaining his City Council seat after moving outside of his election district last year.
The Pocomoke Tattler has reported on the Pocomoke City Police Departments refusal to enforce local ordinances against X-Councilman Cane such as his junking up the city with un-tagged derelict vehicles. The PCPD enforces these laws against citizens who are not in with Russ Blake and his Boss Hogg form of government.
The big news story this week was posted yesterday where City Councilman Rob Clarke asked for citizens to write him demanding that competent law enforcement officials such as the Worcester County Sheriff, Maryland State Police and FBI be brought into the City to end the reign of terror.
Bobby Cowger Jr., Worcester County Commissioner, District One of Pocomoke City, has publicly asked on the Pocomoke Tattler for citizens to file written complaints against the City for its endorsement of the open air drug market so he has the power to bring in outside law enforcement officials.
It has long been rumored that X-Councilman Honiss Cane and his family control the Pocomoke drug market with the tacit endorsement and approval of City Manager Russ Blake who holds the dubious distinction of being the longest sitting City Manager in the USA at 32-years and counting.
We hold Boss Hogg Russ Blake personally responsible for the recent crime wave based upon his refusal to enforce any laws against his cronies, political payback in the form of millions of dollars in public money being siphoned to X-Councilmen and Boss Hogg cronies for pet projects with significant salaries & 'consulting fees' being paid to insiders.
The Pocomoke Tattler is obviously gaining popularity with readers outside of the City where currently one out of four residents reads the blog for news, gossip and information on a daily basis.
The Pocomoke Tattler is dedicated to exposing the crime and corruption centered at Pocomoke City Hall by exercising our right to free speech and it looks like a lot of people are listening.
Thank you for reading and please come to the next Pocomoke City Council Meeting Monday March 10th 7:30 PM to show your support for Councilman Rob Clarke and demand removal of the criminals who are clinging to their positions with the City.
Breaking News Update On OC Fire Department
I have from a credible source that there is a different plan brewing between the OCVFC and the Town Offcials, after many hours of working with the proposal from the Mayor to Chief Larmore.
This new direction if accepted by the Mayor and City Council would not only retain OCVFC on the island, but signifcatly build the 103 year old orgazation in the future.
Futhermore, it would appease the City Manager and the Union of Paramedics that this plan does not require the Volunteer Chief to assume command over the current paid personel.
This story is developing, and trust that Salisbury News will have the facts first. Matter of fact, I predict we will find and produce the offcial plan first, long before the Daily Times.

Salisbury Kennel Club Dog Show
OK, it's time once again for bragging rights. Our puppy "Pink Coral Sea" won the Toy Group, which is all the Toy Groups. Of course this is a small Show but for her very first time into the ring, she did extremely well.
Remember the group of puppies I showed pictures of several months ago? This is one of those puppies from that litter. So for those of you who purchased puppies from this litter, you can clearly see the quality of that litter already.
Brew River Sucks!
Look, I can't put it any more different than that. We went there for dinner last night, (4 of us) and if it wasn't for the company, I would have raised hell like you've never seen before!
We ordered our drinks and I swear to you, they came back with lemons in them that had green mold/fungi, (hairy too) on them. The Waiter was fantastic, none of this was his fault. He was very professional and was truly in shock when he saw this on almost every drink.
Then came the ordering of the food. I was told the Prime Rib there was fantastic, so I ordered it. I made very sure that I expressed I wanted a PINK piece of meat, (RARE) yet warm. Do you know what I mean, I said to the Waiter? He replied, I certainly do.
Our food arrived and the exterior of the meat was dark. I simply thought, OK, Pittsburgh Style? NOPE! I cut a piece off and took a bite of it and honest to God, it was colder than room temperature. When the Waiter came back I told him is wasn't even warm, yet it was cooked and I asked for a rare piece. He said, I can take care of that immediately. Within two minutes he was back with a new piece, warmer, yet not at all rare and within 2 minutes it was obvious, the meat was so tough I couldn't stick my fork into it, it had been NUKED!!!!
My Bride ordered BLACKENED Scallops, OK, blackened means what? NOT IN THAT JOINT! Look at the photo above, the actual scallops. Does that look blackened to you? More like, pour on the Tabasco Sauce!
The Prime Rib is pre cooked from Sysco, would be my guess. I used to be in the restaurant business and one reason restaurants throw black pepper and sauce all over it is to make it LOOK like they cooked it themselves. Nope, my guess, pre bought, not much different from the crap you can buy at Sam's Club, yet in this case, my case, NUKED!
It was a HORRIBLE experience and I'll close with this. At 3:00 AM this morning I was in the bathroom, NOT a happy camper, if you get my drift! Hence the finally getting out of bed at 10:15 AM, which you know NEVER happens with me.
So for what it's worth, Brew River Sucks and they'll never see me in there again.
Yeah, You're Right, STILL NO DAILY TIMES!
To those of you, (one) complaining because I keep complaining about the Daily Piece Of Sh!t Paper, too bad!
I just discussed it with my Wife and she said not to cancel until we move into 300 W. Main Street with high speed internet. So they're one person luckier today referencing cancellation because believe me, it's cold out there, windy, I'm in pajamas walking to the end of the driveway and I'll be damned, there's no paper!
Tilghman Times Back for Recall Drive?
After worrying about moving the Daily Times to its new facilities, has management decided to re-start publication of the Tilghman Times? Rather than commit times and resources to reporting news, the current petition drive to recall Salisbury Mayor Barrie Tilghman, Councilwoman Louise Smith and Councilman Gary Comegys have caused Gannett's local management go into overdrive defending their favorite local officials.
Up to now their tactics have been primarily limited to the op-ed page, ridiculing petitioner Jordan Reisman. Today's edition attempts to turn reporter Greg Latshaw into the hacks of old.
First of all, what was the purpose of today's article? "The Salisbury mayor and her City Council supporters say that they are baffled"? What would you expect them to say? "We're guilty and should be recalled"?
Notice that each time an article appears about the recall petition drive Mr. Reisman is identified as an "SU student" and a "Columbia native". This is an obvious attempt to play to the parochialism prevalent in our area. Do we expect the Daily Times to begin prefacing references to Shanie Shields with the monikers "black", "African-American", or "foolish"? How about identifying Louise Smith as "addled"? Of course not.
Admittedly, Comegys responds with a valid argument. This is why we have elections. Recalls should be reserved for criminal activity or gross malfeasance. While I support few, if any, of the views of either the Mayor or Mr. Comegys (neither Smith nor Shields appear capable of independent thought) I don't support the recall. This does not, however, diminish Reisman's right to initiate one.
The portion of Latshaw's article / editorial that concerns me the greatest is Smith's response:
Yet, Smith recieve a "free pass" with her comments about "unity". Smith has proven herself to be dishonest from the moment she was sworn in to office. She has violated every promise made during her run for office. Her quest to "unify" council amounts to little more than silencing her two opponents on council.
Smith constantly interrupts Campbell and Cohen. She (along with Comegys and Tilghman) engineered a set of council rules that effectively strip the minority of ALL rights. She refuses to allow any legislation from Campbell or Cohen to come to a vote. Yet, her comments are unchallenged by Latshaw.
Given Mr. Latshaw's past record covering Salisbury City Council, he should be given a mulligan on this one. However, if he wishes to maintain a reputation as a journalist (rather than a hack) he should insist that management put their names on such articles rather than his. Another option is move over to the op-ed side of the shop. Just don't print this foolishness and call it "reporting".

Smith said the petitions are "unfortunate" because they could derail her attempts to build more unity among council members. Why would Latshaw write such a fabrication without any analysis? He is obviously capable. Just below Smith's comments Latshaw raises the legitimate question any possible involvement by Councilwomen Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen. While there is certainly no evidence of involvement with the petition drive, the question should be raised (and was).
"I would hope the petition is not a concentrated attack (on one part of the council) because I'm trying to do something completely opposite and bring all sides together," Smith said.
Yet, Smith recieve a "free pass" with her comments about "unity". Smith has proven herself to be dishonest from the moment she was sworn in to office. She has violated every promise made during her run for office. Her quest to "unify" council amounts to little more than silencing her two opponents on council.

Parapet Wall At Ruby Tuesday Colalapsed Tonight
A friend informs me.......
"Tonight at about 5:00 p.m. a portion of the parapet wall located above Ruby Tuesday collapsed at the Centre of Salisbury Mall. They have yellow ribboned the entranceway off so that visiting customers won't get injured. The debris is still there. Luckily, no one was injured."
