Is The Salisbury Fire Department In Damage Control Mode?
The fear of a Discrimination Lawsuit could have brought Officers from the Salisbury Fire Department to Paul Wilber's Office yesterday.
Damage Control is something standard within the City of Salisbury and with lawsuits flowing like water in a stream, the City is certainly keeping Mr. Paul Wilber a very wealthy man, that's for sure.
Just another reason everyone should consider FIRING the Mayor at the next Election but my guess is that this woman wouldn't even think of running again. I was right with Mike Dunn and Lynn Cathcart, Barrie doesn't want to flat out lose as it would destroy her inner beliefs that the majority of Salisbury actually likes her. WRONG!
Oh well, let's see what becomes of your Fire Department Tax Dollars and Attorney Fees hard at work once again.
Mayor Tilghman Drives Out Another $12,000,000.00 Business
BREAKING NEWS!
Linens Of The Week is packing their bags, selling their property on Marvel Road and MOVING to Wilmington, Delaware!
3 years ago Linens of the Week purchased a large piece of property, (shown above) with the intent of investing $12,000,000.00 and adding 50 to 60 NEW jobs to the community, above and beyond what they already have on Staff. The Mayor and Council originally welcomed their expansion as Linens of the Week clearly showed how the discharge from this new Plant would be lower than any business of its type around the Country as they hired experts to assure any discharge coming from their facility would be safer than most anything around and would be nothing more than diluted vegetable oil.
To date they have invested more than $700,000.00 in engineering costs to build this new facility and today they say "The City of Salisbury is just not willing to work with us." Why the all of a sudden about face? Could the new WWTP NOT be everything the City is claiming it will be?
Linens of the Week is the 5th largest account the WWTP has and driving out those kind of numbers/income seems to be suicide financially. My only guess would be that they are desperate to get their numbers down. Again, the economic & Development this one Firm could bring to the local economy certainly calls for serious negotiations and the City simply is not interested in anything of the sort.
Linens of the Week has a facility in the Church Street area and apparently the City of Salisbury is desperate for that particular piece of property. The owners of the property allegedly have a EPA problem on the property, (sounds like the property the new Station 16 is moving to on the West side) and the ONLY people who can get past that issue is the City. Therefore the City wants that parcel something horrible and there are issues there as well.
That Production Facility will be closing but Linens of the Week will continue to have a local distribution center in the Salisbury Area in which they will absolutely be able to provide 100% of the same quality service they are providing today. They will have Production in Wilmington and transport 7 days a week to the Salisbury area. So for those of you who use their services, nothing will change.
However, for those Taxpayers in Salisbury, you need to look long and hard at what this Administration continues to do to the local economy. For years we have provided the numerous companies that have closed their doors and or relocated out of the area as it is VERY clear, unless you're a Developer, this Administration doesn't want anything to do with you and or support you.
With the new Tax Increases, water & sewer rates regularly on the rise and Developer Reimbursements thrown in the faces of the Taxpayers everywhere you turn. it's time to get rid of Barrie Tilghman, straighten out the City and welcome those businesses that have invested so heavily into this community.
Ladies & Gentlemen, I want to express something else to you in order to PROVE the City of Salisbury is completely over the top with this WWTP. Many of you are familiar with the Salisbury Christian School. Do you know that once a year they hold an event whereas they get hundreds of people together and they would cook Hot Dogs and give them out for free to all who attended? Are you aware that this event no longer offers Hot Dogs? Do you know why they don't? Because the City allegedly rode their tails about the DISCHARGE from boiling such said Hot Dogs! Need I say more?
There is now a For Sale Sign on the new property Linens of the Week owns and no matter what, they are NOT changing their mind and they are leaving Salisbury. They did everything they could do to negotiate with the City and the City refused.
Duvall Is Clueless!
Old Man Duvall put up a RED NET ALERT this morning misleading the Public stating there is a Planning & Zoning Meeting on the Hearne Annexation TODAY and he is flat out wrong!
There is a scheduled meeting a week from today, (the 18th) but no secret meeting is being held today. Then again, as old and slow as he is, maybe it will take him an entire week to get there, up the elevator and into the meeting? Hence the photo above.
"Andy Harris Raised Over $526,000 Year To Date"
Salisbury - Today, Andy Harris for Congress announced it will report that the campaign has raised $526,256 this year, with over $352,000 in total receipts for the third quarter ending September 30, 2007. Despite the difficulty most campaigns have raising funds during the summer months, the total raised during the third quarter is more than double the amount raised in the second quarter ending June 30, 2007.
"The strong financial support for my campaign echoes what I see and hear as I visit with voters throughout the district." said Harris. "They want a congressman who believes in fiscal responsibility, stopping illegal immigration, and winning the Global War on Terror."
No previous primary challenger to Gilchrest has ever raised as much money - much less with four months to go in the campaign. More importantly, the "cash on hand" available shows that the campaign will be able to get Andy's message for change out to the Republican primary voters in the district.
"Andy's message of consistent conservative leadership - a direct contrast to liberal Wayne Gilchrest's support for higher taxes, wasteful government spending, and amnesty for illegal immigrants - is energizing people to finally break with the incumbent and open their wallets to help Andy become the next congressman", said Chris Meekins, campaign manager for the Harris campaign.
FAST FACTS about Andy Harris for Congress Third Quarter Report:
Total Receipts Year to Date: $526,256
Total Receipts for the Third Quarter: $352,142
Cash on Hand: $402,053
Andy will be available for comment throughout the day.
O'Malley Comes To Salisbury Selling Snake Oil
We had huge losses last year. BS! We PROJECTED numbers that weren't realistic and now since we never came close to those numbers we're in hawk up to out ears and an instant tax increase and Slot Machines will relieve the problem.
Look, I've known the President of the Maryland Senate, (Mike Miller) for more years than I'd like to admit and one thing I can tell you is, THIS MAN HAS WANTED SLOTS IN MARYLAND FOR MANY YEARS! They tried the regular way to get them passed for years and it didn't work, so now they created another way to get them passed.
O'Malley wanted to stress that the ONLY place we can pull the $1.6 Billion from is a small 16% of the entire Budget for the State. Bull Sh*t! For those of you sitting there listening/believing that line of crap, you're IDIOTS! You pull from each and every percent and when they start complaining, REPLACE THEM!
He's pulling another Barrie Tilghman BS 10% Water & Sewer Increase! It didn't work for her and soon enough Marylanders will realize these are false numbers being thrown down their throats. When is the last time you heard someone over spend by $1.6 Billion in one year, (or so) PLEASE!
Then what happens when they raise taxes, they gain back their losses and Slot Machines are in place whereas it could bring in enough income to see taxes go back down to 5%? NOPE, not gonna happen! You're NOT going to hear these words from any politicians either.
O'Malley is a nice guy but if he thinks everyone in the State of Maryland is that stupid and they're going to fall easily for this Tax Increase, he's nuts, just like Barrie Tilghman was on her BS Water & Sewer Increase.
