August 30, 2007 - SALISBURY FIRE CHIEF TO SERVE AS MEMBER OF A NATIONAL PROJECT WORKGROUP
Salisbury Mayor Barrie P. Tilghman is pleased to announce that Salisbury Fire Chief David See has been asked to serve as a member of a project workgroup of the Volunteer & Combination Officers Section (VCOS) of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC).
VCOS has authored three nationally recognized “ribbon” reports – red, white and blue – that provide guidance and management information to leaders of volunteer and combination fire departments. Now, VCOS is embarking on a project to author a fourth report – orange – to provide management information for fire-based EMS organizations. As a leader of one such organization, Chief See was asked by VCOS to serve as a member of this project’s workgroup. He will serve with other fire chiefs from both career and combination organizations from across the country. The projected release date of this report is March-April 2008.
Mayor Tilghman said, “I am so pleased that Chief See’s professionalism and commitment to the effective delivery of Fire and Emergency Services has been recognized, and I know that he will make a great contribution to this workgroup.”
VCOS provides fire chiefs who manage volunteer and combination departments within the Fire/Rescue/EMS delivery system with information, education, services, and representation to enhance their professionalism and capabilities. Chief See currently serves on the VCOS Board of Directors as a Member At Large.
Chief See recently attended the IAFC Fire Rescue International conference in Atlanta, Georgia. While at this conference, he attended the IAFC business meeting as well as the VCOS annual membership meeting and business meetings, during which he was asked to serve on the project workgroup. He also staffed the VCOS booth at the trade show during the conference. The trade show included vendors with the latest in all kinds of emergency services related items from software to turnout gear to fire apparatus.

CHIEF SEE TO SERVE ON NATIONAL COMMITTEE

I guess the mare is endorsing this free vacation at taxpayers expense. So what benifit do the tax payers get from these free vacations. Isn't this the same guy that hates Volunteer Firefighters, especially Salisbury's? Isn't this the same guy that tells Fire Fighters that the last three letters in "problems" is EMS? This guy has never ridden in the back of an ambulance and done patient care so what great contribution will he make?

Who paid for this? Again, what benifit do the city and county taxpayers get from his free vacations? Can you tell I've done my homework Chief?
It's Back!
More Crossroads Information
Joe, the crossroads is in the annexation stages at this time. It is actually a poor plan and is being developed in an area that wouldn't normally be developed due to the bypass because of poor access and congestion, just look at the area the next time you drive out there. The area is already a major problem with congestion and accidents.
In order to annex the area they also have do annex the bypass, DUH!! The crooks are trying to get the MSP to continue to patrol that area and handle all calls on the highway. The MSP is already understaffed.
Iyeska is right. John Pick and BPT have always said they wanted to annex to smooth out the borders, yeah right. They are greedy and power hungry. We will never see the borders smoothed out in our life time. Not with the Crossroads and Sassafras.
Queen Dee, Dee, Deeeee!
With words and statements like, "glitterin infatractional?" "Assessive Sound?" Not just targeting College Students. Shanie proves she da most edgamacated indibidual on the Council.

What A Day!
Well, as you can see we are temporarily back on Blogger. I'd expect to be here for a few days as our system/server completely crashed and wouldn't you know it, we lost everything. Talk about incredible timing!
Oh well, we're seeing what we can do to get back on line but more than likely we'll be using a new server in the future.
